Monday Musings

Here it is Monday already, we were up at the usual hour, and had coffee, and I had another piece of the sugarless apple pie that Donna baked for dessert for supper last night. It is really good and the only sugar in it is whatever the apples produce naturally and you can't get out. The new recipe for Chicken Parmesan was also excellent. Donna was really pleased with the way the sauce came out, you baked the chicken in a sauce and topped with cheese and then put it on a bed of boiled fettuccine with a little extra sauce. I always add some Parmesan cheese as the finishing touch.

I have a couple more pictures from the doggie park, maybe not quite up to Bayfield Al's quality but I think you will see improvement in my Camera use and Picasso work.

          Rigg's with his determined look.

Rigg's is a very powerful swimmer and will not give up in a race to get the toy in the water so far he is the undisputed champ at the Doggie Park and you can see his muscles churning the water up as he takes powerful strides to get his prize. Paul even commented that Rigg's is the fastest swimmer he's come across. Were proud of our boy..

Here Rigg's is closing in and Jodie has turned around and givin it up.

Rigg's,Jodie & Coco, Black,Yellow & Chocolate Labs. All three were very well mannered and drew a lot of praise.

I got a call from Paul & Helen this morning and they arrived safely home last night, but when they plugged in the computer to send an e-mail and make a post they found out their modem for their DSL had fried somehow so now they are without home internet till the repairman comes later in the week. Paul said the Doggie Park trip was just the ticket as both Jodie & Coco were tired out and crashed on the way south from MO.

Again what a great visit. I know at least Helen & Jodie are glad to be home in Florida, but I think Paul is still dreaming about some bigger fish to be caught in Alaska. Glad you made the stop and we became closer friends.

                A dog and his boy.

Donna took this one morning while we were in Ohio, she said both of the boys were out like a light at 04:30am and she had to take the picture because it showed Rigg's laying on Adam's feet . Rigg's is a body contact dog and will lay on the floor with his body against your feet just to be touching a part of you. That reflectorized collar really does the job but is hard to photograph at night.

Well that's about it for today. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna.

  1. Keep up the good Picasa work Sam. The more you work with it, the more it will work for you. Our little Motormouse is a body contact dog as well. Thanks for the mention:))

  4. Our chocolate lab is the same way. He has to be touching one of us at all times if possible. He is also a good swimmer but would prefer to be on land. He only swims if Connie or the kids are in the water.

  5. I think your photography is great!! That picture of Riggs swimming is great! I still like the doggie park idea. Wish we had something like that here.
Riggs certainly loves Adam and it shows!! He's a great dog! :-)
Our little Nick is getting better everyday. He's getting his strength back. That was quite a scare. I guess we are doggie people.

  6. Great photos, Sam, you're doing just fine with that new camera and Picasa.

Both of our dogs are "touchy" as well, everytime I sit down, one or both, are all over me!!

  8. Those were great pics, Sam. You are so lucky to have such a great dog like Riggs. He and Adam looked so sweet sleeping on the sofa bed in the 5er. Great work.

  9. I liked that first photo of Riggs - it's fun fiddling around with photography. There should be a law that every RV Park must have a dog park - and Riggs would want me to say "including a swimming hole".
