There was a BIG red blob with a flash flood warning on top of us. We survived and stayed dry. It's nice to not have to worry that we might flood when we are gone. 3 days and counting...Diana, Eric, and kidshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06291764065447297943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8636111343812044798.post-5223055712689562422010-06-16T07:19:46.461-05:002010-06-16T07:19:46.461-05:00We have always liked the distant sound of a train ...We have always liked the distant sound of a train whistle in the night. Seems no matter where we go in the States we always seem to be within the reach of a train whistle somewhere. I grew up in my younger years about 300 yards from a train station & tracks. In those days it was all steam engines & they were an everyday part of my life. I can still hear the chugging & still smell & see the everpresent steam. The shunting of box cars & the swinging of lanterns. The steam whistle & the huge puffs of black smoke followed by the smell of burning coal. Sometimes the engineer would spin the big train wheels on the tracks & sometimes he would wave to the small boy standing transfixed on the porch not far away. Aw yes, those were the days:))Al Bossencehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04307619781955351484noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8636111343812044798.post-8895818823801554782010-06-15T23:05:41.802-05:002010-06-15T23:05:41.802-05:00Thanks for the info on the Duck Haven Campground. ...Thanks for the info on the Duck Haven Campground.
