This morning when she went to breakfast she said right before they brought her food two nurses came and got her for therapy. When I went over at 10am she still had not eaten, I can just see her memo for her first day.Anyway she looked a lot better and seemed to have more energy, she also told me they allow pets to visit, I can see a Rigg’s visit in our future, he can pull me in the wheelchair to her room, I use a wheel chair because it’s to far for me to walk from the front desk to her room. Not much else going on,everyone be safe out there. I have told a lot of young people to get a college degree and then go into Naval aviation. I have decided to post some pictures from my Navy Days 50 years ago, between those days and my Police career of 35 years, I must say I was lucky to be able to say I had a job all that time that I truly enjoyed, I did almost every job the police department had to offer, Patrol Sergeant, my police dogs, the motorcycle ( a Harley of course).and then ending as Ass’t Chief retired after 30ys, I then went on to the Chiefs job at Lake Sherwood Mo.for 7 years.
So here we go.
One of the things that has confounded me is I have often wondered what life held in store for the guys we fished out of a certain death in the ocean. Did they father children or have Grandchildren like I was lucky enough to have. I have tried many time to google names and I have never been able to find a response to those names. I did find one obituary but it wasn’t to old and the man had a family.
Hope this doesn’t bore anyone or sound like tootin his own horn, I truly did enjoy those years, Now that I am approaching 70 and I can’t walk so good , it makes those old days when I was fit and ready to go all that more attractive.
By he way we are hoping Donna will be coming home from the hospital tomorrow.Everyone be safe out there. I have far to many friends to name each one that served his country. But I am grateful to each, most would be like me and prefer to be humble when someone thanks you for your service, I always reply, you are welcome, but my time flying in the Navy was the most fun a young man could have. You go in a child and come out a man hardened by the lessons war and life has taught you. Thanks again my friends.

Donna is still in the hospital, she says she is feeling better each day but no word on how look she will have to stay, waiting to find out how the infection and pneumonia is coming. Me and the fur kids are fine, all three stay close to me while Donna isn’t here, all three sleep on the bed with me at night. They act like they don’t want me to leave them along, what sissies.

Not much else going on going to try and get out for a veterans day at our veterans park in O’Fallon Mo.Hope all is well with all our friends out there, Be careful out there. We haven’t hear anything from the lawyer on getting Sadie back yet, some people have asked what kind of proof we have that she is in fact Andy’s dog, all the vet Bills are in Andy’s and only Andy’s name, the chip she has is in Andy’s name.no where anywhere is Samantha’s name mentioned. still the Count Sheriff says that the court will have to decide.Back min my day as a police officer, with all that paperwork,I wouldn’t have needed court to tell me who’s dog it was, I would have picked her up and she would have got a free ride in a police car home to Andy.Anyway we still wait.

My Grand daughter Meghen , horsewoman extraordinaire has collected another Grand Champion for a horse meet on the second of October.

<img title="Meg with her GrandChampion Ribbons10-02-16b" style="border-left-width: 0px; We called the police and reported her stolen, but he said they couldn’t go and get her and return her.Andy was heartbroken and furious, He went over to Samantha’s parents where she is staying, and they called the police on him.The police told him he would have to take Samantha to court and to stay way from that house. So The bottom line is we have retained a lawyer who says we have a good case to get her back. It will be expensive money Donna and I really don’t have with all our medical expenses, but Sadie was Andrews dog, he raised her from a pup, so how do you put a price on that.

Speaking of medical issues, last Thursday Donna and I both went to our Doctor for our monthly checkups,he has been scheduling us together to make it easier for Donna with her oxygen tank. We both got good news and he said we are doing good, I lost a few pounds and Donna is at 107lbs still, her and Rigg’s are the same weight.

That’s about it for any more news, the fiver is still sitting, since it wasn’t used all summer it is still winterized, so unless we head south later this season it will stay winterized for now.

OH before I forget my Grandson Adam has got his learners permit, from DMV. he came by for his first visit in a long time just to show it to me,

He sure is growing up into a fine looking young man.

That’s it for now everyone be safe out there. Things are looking up here at the Weeb Ranch, Donna is getting around a lot better since her boot was removed and is walking around a lot more around here. The fur babies all are doing good, the weather is down out of the 90’s and more tolerable. Not much else going on. Hope all or friends are doing well, Be safe out there ,Sam & Donna….Sam&Donna Weibelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01405315775347233295noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8636111343812044798.post-84591309687622118892016-08-30T15:14:00.001-05:002016-08-30T15:16:55.714-05:00Another Doctors visit.Took Donna to her orthopedic surgeon, hard to believe its been 3 1/2months since she broke her leg, Good news, she had her boot/cast removed, the doctor said it looks real good and now to start getting some exercise, he said it shouldn’t take long for her to be back to normal on her feet, here is a print of one of her x-rays.
two beaks were between screws. The steel rod is down the middle of her leg bone.
The best news for her is she can start driving again again hopefully this will help her recovery a little bit if she can get out and mobile again.
Once thy got her situated, they put her on a machine to assist her breathing, not a respirator that breaths for you,and started IV’s, they are going to check her blood counts and see if she needs infusions, needless to say I stayed with her a couple hours and then when she wanted to sleep I went home to wait until they got her to a room, won’t know much more until morning. I hope they can get her feeling better fast. Send prayers. On the Donna front she is doing well at home and getting around in her walker/scooter,I keep the wheelchair in her car for when we go out. Yesterday I took her to her Doctor at St Joseph’s where she had an infusion treatment for her blood count. That took nearly three hours so she sent me home and I went back for her when she was done.
She now has three in home nurses that come, a rehab nurse, a home care nurse from Medicare, and a second home care nurse from her medical plan (Esse Health). So far she is progressing just fine.
OH yeah this morning Rigg’s saw me take the tag for his new rabies shot off the paper, he must have known it was his because he came running over and sat by my chair while I took his collar off and put the tag on it and then put the collar back around his neck,he was a happy guy.
When I went to visit yesterday she was getting her second transfusion, will probably need one more before she leaves, Don’t know if she will be going to rehab or not seems Medicare is balking on the cost, Doctor said if not he will try to arrange home care. Either way in one way I would like rehab to continue to the point she is walking without trouble,in the other I would like her home with me. After the flu last week and this setback I am exhausted, however I will do my best to make visits and help as much as I can. I will cut this short so I can get a nap, haven’t heard from Donna yet today, but I got her laptop over to her yesterday so now she can communicate again, yesterday she was out of touch because her phone ran down. Hope all our friends are doing a lot better than us. Be safe Sam & Donna..
Sam&Donna Weibelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01405315775347233295noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8636111343812044798.post-77359039140868490242016-06-15T11:16:00.001-05:002016-06-15T11:16:16.652-05:00Back on the blog.
Been neglecting the blog, for the last couple of weeks. I am busy with a lot of things one trying to get over to the care facility. Donna s in the O’fallon Complex of Delmar Gardens.

Here is a picture of the facilities.

Don’t have a clue yet how long her rehab process will take but she is now able to get out of bed and into her wheelchair, and take a couple steps, when I visit she wheels herself down to the reception area and if it isn’t to hot we go outside for a little fresh air. She really doesn’t care for the place but does concede it is a beautiful place.

The latest news from the Circle W Ranch in Farmingdale NJ.

Grandaugher Katie sprained her ankle in a fall, she is challenging Grandma Donna to a wheelchair race.

Grandaughter Meghen with the volley ball at her mm and Tim;s wedding.

I have been fighting some kind of a flu bug the last couple of days, seems like all I want to do is lay on the bed and watch a train movie, only thing is I fall asleep before they are over.

Not much else going on be safe out there Sam & Donna,,,,,
Sam&Donna Weibelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01405315775347233295noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8636111343812044798.post-59905473966505339722016-06-09T08:27:00.001-05:002016-06-09T08:27:28.354-05:00Donna at Rehab.
After spending all day waiting for the Hospital to decide to discharge Donna about 03:30PM she was ready to go, On the way out of the hospital, I got my foot tangled up in a carpet and took a header, Donna’s laptop which I was carrying went crashing to the floor. I was sore, but I said no to be taken to the emergency room and told them I just want to get my wife to rehab. Luckily besides a crack in the case and a bent USB plug the laptop is in working order,

We got to Delmar Gardens and I went in to tell them I would need someone with a wheel chair with oxygen to come out and get her,the receptionist said someone will be right out. 20 minutes later the girl came out with the wheelchair and no oxygen, we got to the room and their was a big tank but no cannula or key to turn it on.It took forever to finally get that straightened luckily it was just before her little tank ran out. She is in room 108. I stayed until around 06:00PM and then she said I might as well go her supper which was due at 5pm hadn’t arrived yet. Because I was really sore from my fall, I went on Home and skipped supper had a couple of beers and Tylenol, and went to bed.

Not much else to report, Hope all is well with all our friends out there. After her surgery last Thursday, she had one good day, and then her blood pressure dropped and they had to get that under control. Since then she has been eating better and is still pretty weak and the weight of the boot she is wearing makes it difficult to lift her leg by herself. She said today it looks like several more days n the hospital and then they will transfer her to a rehab center. I miss her so especially at night when I wake up and I am alone in bed. Well sometimes alone Rigg’s I think senses how I feel and he will jump up for a while and then go back on the floor, but he stays in the bedroom until I get up.

Last Saturday was my Jersey Grand's Ballet recital, there Mom said they did great.

Meghen & Katie.

Here is a picture of them at Wall Speedway.

Girlfriend, Katie, & Meghen.

The youngest Meghen is our wildcard, absolutely fearless, she will be a success in anything she does. They were going to insert a steel rod in the bone that was broken in three pieces. The anesthesiologist said they would try a block on her leg since putting her under a full anesthetic would be a severe risk with her COPD.

Ended up they were running late she didn’t get into surgery until 06:00PM, The procedure was supposed to take an hour, you can imagine my fear when almost two hours went by while I sat in the waiting room. Finally the surgeon came in and told me she did really well and was in the recovery room,I was allowed to go see her for a few minutes and then I came home.

Today I called and she said they will be keeping her one more day and she as feeling much better today. Thank you all for the prayers and well wishes, we are blessed with many, many friends and relatives an I am so happy for their Blessings.

That’s about it for today I am keeping busy here at the Ranch, watching Rigg’s, he goes in the bedroom and I know he is looking for his Mom.He is so smart and loving.

Everyone be safe out there. Sam & Donna…..
Sam&Donna Weibelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01405315775347233295noreply@blogger.com11tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8636111343812044798.post-44938882113724085472016-05-30T06:38:00.001-05:002016-05-30T06:38:51.380-05:00Memorial Day

Todays is the day set aside in the USA to honor all our Service Men & Women who gave their lives to insure we can enjoy the freedoms we have in this great country of ours. There is a misconception that all Veterans should be honored on this day.Not so, This day is reserved for those that were killed in the line of duty.Veterans Day honors the rest of us living veterans.

A little progress report on my bride Donna,When she was discharged from the hospital, they helped get her in the car, but when I got home I had no way to get her in the house. I called the Paramedics and they sent a crew over and carried her in the house. She sat in the kitchen chair with her leg elevated,we tried all over to locate a wheel chair on a holiday weekend with no result, we still lookin but have pretty well resigned ourselves to having to wait till Tuesday after the holiday.

I feel so helpless because I can no longer lift her myself, luckily my Son Andrew carried her into bed. She cannot move her leg in anyway without extreme pain. I am now her caregiver, yes, that includes the bedpan for bathroom breaks as she cannot leave her bed.

Thank goodness for little Kelly our new housekeeper, she has stepped up to the plate and helped us immensely, what a girl Friday.

I’m hoping once she go’s to the orthopedic surgeon he can fix it up where she will be able to get out of bed. Oh well one day at a step, every journey starts with a single step.

That’s about it for now, be safe out there.
