Had a morning eye opener.

At 07:00AM this morning my Son Andy and I set off for Florissant MO. for my 07:45AM appointment at the Surgical Center for my Cataract surgery. It took about 2 hours and when It was over the doctor said it came out excellent and I will be happy with the results,I could see right away on the way home that I had brighter and clearer vision.

Tomorrow I have a follow up appointment at the eye center in St Peters Mo. I will have to keep it covered with plastic cover while  sleep at night for about a week, and Donna will be putting drops in until they are used up. In about a month they will do my left eye, I don’t have a date yet.

No pain and really not a bad experience. Just a little sleepy from the medication, they don’t put you to sleep but they give you a heavy pain masker. No driving for at least 24 hours.

That's about it for now, everyone be careful out there. Sam & Donna…..

Mild again.

Been awhile since a post, we had a really cold streak with temps in the teens and snow and  now the last few days we have had temperatures in the 60’s and 70’s like spring but it won’t last, we still have another good month of cold weather yet.

Got some pictures of the Grands from New Jersey, These were taken on the 22nd of this month it was warm in Jersey too.

On Thursday 02-25-16  I (Sam) will be having cataract surgery and having an astigmitism corrected on my right eye, then a month later they will do the cataract in my left eye. After that I won’t need glasses and will have good vision again. Every one I talk to says it it like a miracle with very little discomfort. I am really looking forward to it.

Donna is still a little under the weather but is taking her medicine and hopefully improving. The three mutso’s loving the warmer days and spending more time outside, Charlie would stay out all day if you would let him , he has wood dragged all over the yard, what a Dennis the menace.

Not much going on here at the Ranch. Hope all is well with all our friends out there. Be safe… Sam & Donna…….

Let it snow, and hacked.

About noon today it started snowing so far at 04:30PM we have 3 or 4 inchs but it looks like it is slowing down now, The last snow we had has only been gone a few days. The other news is some low life hacked our facebook account, I went through them and changed my password and the one wth the new picture of Donna and I is the right one, the old account had a picture of us by our fiver.

Anxiously awaiting the 25th to get here, that i when I am scheduled for my first cataract surgery. can’t wait to have both eyes finished.

Donna went to the doctor yesterday and she has another infection in her longs, so she had to get more antibiotics and steroids. She is doing better today.

Te rest of us are all ding well, just being shut ins to the weather, it is n the teens and we have a fire going until it warms up.

Thats about it for today, hope all is well with all our friends, be safe out there. Sam & Donna………

More Doctors.

Had my eye doctor appointment  this morning at 08:45am over in St Louis County in Florissant MO. Which meant rush hour traffic across the bridge. I left Dardenne Prairie at 7:30Am, traffic wasn’t as bad as expected so the 30 mile commute took about 40 minutes. The purpose of todays appointment was to measure my eyes for my cataract surgery, this is done with three machines to get a precise measurement for the lens they will implant in my eye. The doctor said my right eye which has the worst cataract is borderline astigmatism so it will be up to the surgeon if she thinks that needs correction, their goal is to return me to 20/20 in both eyes and not have to wearfor the rest of my life. The both procedures for the right eye can be done at the same time. They have scheduled the right eye for Feb 25th and the other for 4 weeks later. I am really excited about this.Doctor who I went to yesterday had his done in December and said its like a miracle. By the way my numbers were good and I’m good for anther 3 months or 3000 miles.
Riggs was waiting for me to get back from the Doctors, he is such a wuss, he really misses his Daddy when I go out.

Besides this, they are both competative horseman, and play soccer and enjoy hunting with my Son Tim and their Mom. Donna and I are so proud of them, but credit goes Tim & Bonnie for providing the direction and and outlets for them to progress.

We have had several nice days temps in the 50”s and 60’s and sunny.I would go to Spring right now if I could. It was so nice I went for a haircut this afternoon. Hadn’t had one snce August, Got a regulatin buzz, so I won’t need another one for month or so.

Tomorrow I have a doctors  appointment with my regular doctor, The next day I have an appointment to have my eyes measured for cataract surgery at the end of the month. That’s about it for now, Everyone be safe out there. Sam & Donna………..
