T.G.I.F.

cheerupdude.jpg

Was up and at em at 04:30AM for coffee with my bride. Then she was off to the truck company and then the restaurant.

It has been a steady light rain all morning, Adam’s Mom called and said they cancelled football for this weekend because of the storms forecasted all weekend, so he will be coming over here after school.

I will be waiting for my Navy buddy Barry Waluda, to stop on his way from Colorado to Pa. this afternoon, I don’t know how Adam will get here, maybe his Mom or other Grandpa will drop him off.

Maybe I’ll get lucky and get a picture when my company gets here, they aren’t going to stay but a short time since they want to be in Greenville IL. for the night and then finish the trip to Scranton on Saturday, It’s still an hour from here to Greenville. and then about 14 hours from there to Scranton. I just about can’t handle the straight through anymore, but there are two of them so if they drive in four hour segments and nap it isn’t as bad as the last time I came all the way back with just one lunch and two fuel stops.

Looks like if we get the predicted four days of showers from Issac then ground here will be replenished and the farmers will plant a wheat crop, most of them have already plowed under most of the burnt up corn and beans.

Well that’s about it for now just waiting now. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna……

Thursday Happenings.

Was up at 04:30AM with my bride and we had coffee and then Rigg’and I got our early 05:30am nap. He just waits for me now on the bed I guess he knows he is getting a nap with or without me.Usually by 06:30AM he is ready to go in the kitchen for his morning cup of food. then he gets his supper cup about 05:00PM. With spreading the food out his weight is staying right at 103lbs and he gets more exercise.

After Nicole moved her stuff to live with her Dad. I decided get the guest bedroom back to looking like a guest room, first it was decorated for a little boy. ( Adam) when he lived with us, Then when Nicole moved in it was made into a neat little girls room. So I now I decided it will be a guest room with maybe a train picture or two. So I can feel comfortable if I lay on the bed to watch a train movie.

I needed a digital alarm clock for the dresser or night stand so you can tell what time it is when your in bed at night so I made a trip to Wally World. They had just what I wanted for 6 bucks.

Tomorrow one of my Navy buddies will be stopping here on his way to visit his brother and sister in PA. Barry and I went to high school together and then met up and flew together in the Navy the last year I was in. I met up with him and his wife Bonnie in Branson last fall. He asked if he could leave his boat trailer here so he didn’t have to tow it all the way to PA. or detour to Branson to drop it off there, They live in Colorado and it would be 200 miles out of the way for them to do that since they will be on I-70 anyway and we are a mile from 70. I am going to box up two Police Motorcycle leather coats for my brother and nephew, who have motorcycles in Pa. Barry’s Sister lives two blocks from my Sister and brother, so he said he would drop the box at the house for me instead of having to ship it.

Right now it looks like they should get here around 04:00PM tomorrow afternoon..

That’s about all that is going on for today. Everyone be safe out there. Sam & Donna…….

Wednesday Musings.

Up at 04:30AM for coffee with my bride then she was off to the truck company and Rigg’s and I got our after breakfast nap.

It was another beautiful day here at the Ranch, sunny, high in the mid 90’s, I had to laugh one of my buddies, Mark who is on the campground committee with me at the Lake. Asked if I was going to camp this weekend for the Labor Day weekend, I told him look at the forecast, it is supposed to rain Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with partly cloudy skies Monday. Needless to say after four months of virtually no rain now the weekend  might be dismal. He said he has six days off and will probably go anyway. I wish him luck maybe they will be sporadic showers with sun in between like in Florida.

Pretty much stayed inside all day, I remembered at the last minute I had used up Rigg’s last food this morning and hadn’t made it to the store. He gets a half a cup in the morning and then another half cup at supper time. Donna called and said she was not working the restaurant tonight so she said she would stop and get him a small bag of food and I will pick up a big bag at the store tomorrow.

Been watching my train movies on and off, I check the news once in awhile for hurricane news, but I can’t stomach, all the politicking and political ads.You mean with the millions of people in this country, this is the best we can come up with to run for an office as important as President, pretty depressing.

196174_3618028764144_820031906_n

Here would have been my choice if he were alive.

With Donna coming home I will have to think of something for supper tonight, I have several choices of frozen or stir fry bag meals. Sounds like a winner.

The pups are laying under the fan again, this is their time out time and take full advantage of it.

That’s about it for today, I hope everyone is doing fine out there. Be safe, Sam & Donna……..

Tuesday Thoughts.

Was up at 04:30AM for coffee with my bride. Then she was off to the truck company and Rigg’s and I went back for a  knap. I just noticed that while I was at the Lake last week and without my own wi-fi, I got two more followers. Welcome to MARK & LAUREE they have a blog , just click on their name to see it, also BETTY BROOKS  STENGER couldn’t find a blog for her so if you have one send us the address.I hope you guys enjoy the misadventures of our group and Rigg’s as we either stay at the Ranch or travel in our fiver. Until my wife retires we will be strictly part timers.
Saw this on the web someplace and have to pass it on.
onebeer.jpg
Sam is happy with this one.
Also one more.
newdrugs.jpg
Life was so much simpler.
Another gorgeous summer dog day of August, sunny, temps in the middle nineties, makes me wish for the pool again this week.
Rigg’s and Sadie are lying next to my kitchen chair taking full advantage of the ceiling fan, funny how they pick out the cool spots and the places they feel safe in for their naps. This morning when Rigg’s and I took our nap Sadie came in and I put her up on the bed and she curls up under your arm and goes to sleep.
After the Rally is over, I am hoping we can make a long 4 day weekend in November to Branson for Veterans Week. I am gonna try to see if my Navy Helicopter buddies will be there again this year, they said they generally go every year. That was so neat to see those guys after 40 years. Boy what a fun time.
Not much going on here at the ranch, my son & his girlfriend are making some killer chili for supper so no cooking for me tonight.
Hope everyone is having a fine week. be safe out there, Sam & Donna..

Monday Meanderings.

Was up at 04:30AM with my bride for coffee, then she was off to the truck company. Rigg’s and I got another short nap and then I started to read some blogs I have been behind in.

Had a little rain this morning and then about noon the sun came out and it has been a gorgeous afternoon. So far it is in the middle 80’s and just a nice day.

Rigg’s and I had a nice afternoon he even watched a train movie with me, seems he prefers steam locomotives, maybe it’s the whistle but he perks his ears up when he hears that.

Donna is meeting an old co-worker after work today for a girl night out. I will be dining in alone with Rigg’s. We have put of the Birthday Dinner date until later when Donna is feeling her best. I went out and got carry in food last night and Donna’s meat was too salty. what a bummer.

Sometimes it just doesn’t pay to not cook right at home.

Not much going on, So I will say.

Sunday Mumblings.

Was up at 06:00AM, spent yesterday afternoon in the pool again, said good bye to all my swim buddies and the lifeguards from this summer, they all are heading back to college, next next week.
About 09:00AM I started to get everything travel ready inside the fiver, so I could make it ready to get underway. It really has gotten down into a routine list for getting everything done to be road ready, a stop at the dump station was made and the tanks were emptied and flushed clean. The next trip planned is the Rally in Sept. and we have signed up for  a FHA site so I won’t have to worry about the tanks lasting now this week with juts me I didn’t fill it but if there is more than one person that 40 gal black water tank fills in about 6 days.
Got back to the Ranch at 10:30AM and parked Chappie on her spot, I had given the bathroom a cleaning, yesterday and this week I want to sweep, vacuum, mop and polish the new floor, after a week with Rigg’s his hair needs to go. we keep the sofa covered so the cover will be washed and then we will have the inside ready for the next trip. The groceries will need  to be restocked right before leaving. I usually keep soft drinks(gator G2) and bottled water, and beer in the fridge, and a couple of frozen dinners in the freezer to keep us going until a grocery stop. I have a feeling at the Rally Donna will want to eat out a couple nights.
Now I can catch up on reading some blogs and seeing what’s going on on out in blog land, sorry I haven’t kept in touch for  week and a half, but now I have my own DSL and wi-fi again.
I wanted to take Donna to dinner for a birthday dinner, but she isn’t sure yet. I hope she is feeling all right, I had a little stomach distress when I got home, but I will go if she does. I did leave her a dozen Rose’s, a box of dark chocolates, a blouse and some cards at the house on her birthday so she would have some surprise gifts when she got home from work, she had both jobs that day so there was no celebration time, so I stayed at the Lake.
Today it was cloudy at the Lake and this afternoon we have had a steady rain here at the ranch, first in a week, I must say this has been a great summer for sunshine and camping. At Least for Rigg’s, the Kid’s and Grandpa, Poor Donna had to work. So far all the systems are working on the fiver, so we will have a good Rally. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna…..

Saturday Notes.

Was up early and had my coffee, It’s another gorgeous day it was 79 degrees at 08:00AM. Yesterday I watched a movie in the morning and then went down to the Beach/Pool and spent the afternoon in the water. The high was in the middle 90’s and today it is supposed to hit 94, The plan is to spend my last day in the water all afternoon . I plan on hitching up tomorrow morning about 09:00AM and that will get me home early. Boy the week just flew by and that was without the kid’s being here.

Now we will have a couple weeks and it will be time to head for Sedalia MO. for the Escapee’s Rally. We are both looking forward to meeting new friends and some of the old ones we have already met who will be at the Rally.

The campground has about 7 or 8 sites occupied mostly tent campers with plenty of kid’s running around and enjoying the playground. This weekend and next weekend being the holiday weekend will be the last Harrah for the summer camping season, Next weekend the campground here will be full. Summer seemed to go by quicker this year for some reason, maybe getting older, although I had the kid’s out here at the Lake 1 week in May, two weeks in June, two weeks in July, 1 week in August, and then this last week with just Rigg’s and  so we had a pretty good camping season this summer.

Campground08-25-12a

                     The weekend crowd.

That’s about it for now, have to make a run to my secret wi-f- spot, and then out to the store since I ran out of coffee for the morning tomorrow. Hope everyone is having a fine weekend. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna…..

T.G.I.F.

Happy Birthday

Donna

Today is my brides’ birthday, I can’t tell you how many she’s had but she’s still got some miles left in her. Since she has to work both job’s today, I told her I would bring the fiver back Sunday Morning and we could celebrate her birthday Sunday with a nice night out to dinner. Maybe even the Olive Garden which we both like.

Spent the afternoon yesterday soaking in the pool, with the kid’s back in school I had the pool to myself until 04:00PM then another Grandpa  brought his two over and then some more kid’s got there. It was in the middle ninety’s and sunny but with the cooler nights the water has cooled down a little and it isn’t bath tub warm anymore, to me it is just right.

Sure seemed quiet without Rigg’s here last night, I know he’s missing camping with his Dad but he had a week and I find it easier not to leave him alone in the trailer if I run to the pool. He’s never gotten into anything, and is usually asleep when I get back. but I worry about the power going out while I am gone and the trailer getting hot on a 90 degree day.

That’s about it for today, can’t believe how fast a week of camping goes by, I have had a lot of swimming and relax time and i know while Rigg’s was here he enjoyed his time with his Dad. Be safe out there, Sam & Donna……

Thursday Happenings.

Rigg’s and I were up early for coffee, we made our morning patrol of the campground and besides one other trailer and one tent campsite occupied that was it. Didn’t see anyone else stirring.
About 09:00AM we went over the Ranch and I dropped Rigg’s off so I could do some shopping, a certain bride I know has a birthday tomorrow and I wanted to have some small surprise for her, when she came home from work.
Since it was already 80 degrees at 08:00AM I decided to leave Rigg’s home so he wouldn’t be left in the truck while I was shopping. When I got back to the Ranch I decided to just leave him home, he was playing with Sadie and I was going to spend the next couple afternoons at the pool, so I figured he would have more company at home. That way if the power went off I wouldn’t have to worry about him in a hot trailer.
Nothing much doing, I am heading for the Lake for a swim.
Be safe out there. Sam & Donna…

Wednesday Musings.

Was up at 06:00AM with Rigg’s, boy is he spoiled, I woke up to him laying on the bed next to me,  no couch for him he just jumps up and grabs his half, boy is he in for surprise when Mom is with us for the Rally in Sept.

Looks like another gorgeous day at the lake it was about 65 when we got up and is supposed to hit the low 90’s today.

I think with that kind of weather I can see a swim in our plans for today.

Not much else going on just a relaxing week for the two of us.

Hope everyone else is having a fun week. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna….

Tuesday, August 21, 2012

Tuesday Thoughts.

Rigg’s and I were up at 06:00AM he wanted to go out and I enjoyed my coffee. Then we took a walk around the campground. It looks like it will be another sunny day with a high in the upper 80’s today. Last night about 06:00PM it clouded up and we had a short rain, that really didn’t amount to anything and then the sun came back out just before dark.

It looks like an afternoon at the pool today, Rigg’s will just lay around on the couch until I get back. He has found a hiding place under the dinette every once in awhile but when he is under there there is no room for anyone to sit there.

That’s about it for today. Hope all is well out there in Blog Land, I will catch up on reading and commenting when we get home and I have my own wi-fi. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna…

Monday Meanderings.

Rigg’s and I were up at 06:00AM and went for a walk around the campground. There is only one other small motor home left of all the weekenders, This place is like most campgrounds it is very under utilized during the week, Especially since it is a members only or guest facility.it is so quiet during the week, you can have the windows open and still not hear a sound. Rigg’s sure enjoys his rides in the truck and his walks, I think he is missing his Mom a little, I asked him where Mommy was and he went up in the bedroom and then to the door to look for her.

How many of you remember the Christmas displays in store windows of larger towns during the holidays, I found some pictures of the late 50’s and very early 60’s of the Household Furniture store on Lackawanna Ave. in Scranton PA. From Thanksgiving morning until Jan 2nd the display ran for many years. The east coast was big on Lionel Trains at the time so they were heavily featured. along with dolls and other stuff. Right about the Sputnik times rockets also made an appearance.

Pretty neat I can remember my Grandfather taking my twin brother and I to see it probably once a week, we could never get enough, it was cold at that time of the year, but we didn’t care. I still have a Lionel Lackawanna Train Master diesel like in a couple of those pictures.

That’s about it for today, I hope everyone is having a good week. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna……

Sunday Notes.

Another great day at the Lake, we supposed to get rain this afternoon, but so far it is still sunny and a temp in the low 80’s. Rigg’s and I have had several walks and he is now snoozing under the dinette. I made a quick run to the grocery store in Washington MO. On the way back I saw a nice sized Doe and then one fawn still spotted, but I had left the camera in the fiver. I am sure Rigg’s would have started barking the minute I stopped and chased them off anyway.

Not much else going on we will go down by the Lake later and then relax, and watch movies tonight.

Be safe out there. Sam & Donna……

Saturday Notes.

Rigg’s and I enjoyed a great night at the campground soon as the sun headed down it cooled into the 70’s making sitting out and ball chasing just right. Supposed to be a high of only 80 today.

Got a bunch of neighbors for the weekend, the campground is about half full, there is a motor home in the site to my right, but no one took the site to my left. The motor home got in after dark, and so far we haven’t seen anyone stirring, usually the bigger rigs are visiting someone that lives here as guests, and a lot of times they are empty all the time.

Rigg’s and I had to make a quick trip back to the Ranch yesterday afternoon, I had a prescription to pick up at Walgreens and I had forgotten to pack Rigg’s ear wash. He got to visit with Sadie while I ran to get the prescription.

Not much planned for our do nothing week, maybe a swim for both of us and a couple of walks,he loves his campsite here as he has plenty of space to run on his lead.

Hope everyone's weekend is going fine, Be safe out there, Sam & Donna…

T.G.I.F.

Slept in until 06:00AM, the temperature at the campground went into the low 60’s lat night, talk about great sleeping. Yesterday afternoon after taking Rigg’s for a great walk, I went down to the pool, it was sunny when I left the campground, and when I got in the water, but it clouded up right away and then thunder so that was it the pool was closed and the beach also. Rigg’s is always so good when I leave him in the fiver, I know he cries for a few minutes and then he either get on the couch or the bed for a snooze until I get home. If he is asleep on the bed he doesn’t even her the truck drive up until I walk in the door. So far he has never disturbed anything or chewed.

No rain but it stayed cloudy and went from 90 to about 80 degrees.

Rig’s and I stayed at the campsite and then after dark we started with a slow steady rain no lightening or thunder, it was still raining when I went to sleep but was dry this morning.

Glad I waited on the awing. supposed to be cooler with a high of 80 for the next three days and a low in the 50’s. that should make for good camping weather.

I will take Rigg’s swimming later today. Right now he is in the bedroom laying on the bed taking advantage of being King of the castle.

Have to make a quick run also to the store I forgot treats fro him, he likes  a treat now and then or if company stops by to show off his tricks. Donna has to take the credit for that, she has him doing many tricks now.

I feel guilt with sitting around all morning having my coffee with Rigg’s, either inside or out at the picnic table. the going for a ride with him to publish the blog, or whatever running we have planned, did I tell you the doggie park is only halfway between here and home ( 8 Miles). Then we sit around some more after supper outside when the temperature starts down.

Won’t know what is going on in the rest of blog land this week as I just jump on an unlocked wi-fi and post my blog and download my blog and get off real quick. Can’t do any reading or commenting on somebody else's dime. Just don’t feel right about that.

That’s about it for today, hope everyone is having a great week. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna..

Thursday Happenings.

Was up at 04:30AM and ad coffee with my bride, the she was off to the truck company, she said she was feeling a lot better and was going to go into the restaurant tonight.

I decided to hitch up the fiver and at 07:30AM Rigg’s and I headed for Lake Sherwood. Rigg’s must have missed his nap after his Mom left for work because the minute we left the driveway he looked around and saw the trailer was behind us and then laid down with his head on the consol next to me and went to sleep.

When we got to the campground there was only two spots taken so we had our favorite spot #15 ready and waiting for us. This will give Rigg’s plenty of room to stretch his legs and run.

The tree service finally did arrive a little after 04:00PM yesterday with a big tracked skid loader and a tractor trailer to load all the wood up in. the pile was 8 feet deep in places.

treecleanup08-15-12g

The skidloader had big jaws in front and took a big bite of it at a time.

It still took them about two hours to finish and it was really nice looking when they got done. I will run John Deere through there and throw some seed out if we get any rain soon. Hopefully this will bring the place back into compliance with the County burn pile ordnance.

Allie07-12b

Got a picture of my Grandaughter Allie in New Jersey, she was at some car thing with friends, she starts her second year of college soon.

Rigg’s is napping while I type this I know he will want to go with me when I goo to the Pool later.

Rigg's08-16-12a

Better wrap this up for now and start laying around and taking it easy in the recliner.Be safe out there. Sam & Donna…

Wednesday Musings.

Was up at 04:30AM with my  bride, she got a fairly good nights sleep and decided to go into the truck company, but said she will probably take a couple days off from the restaurant until she is back to 100% again.

I spent all day waiting for the tree service, called them around 10AM and they said they would be out this afternoon.. It is now 04:00PM and still no sign of them. My original plans were to wait until they were finished and pay them, and then head for the Lake with Rigg’s. Well now that it’s this late and with Donna coming home I will put off leaving today and see what Thursday or Friday brings. Aside from Rigg’s dog food the fiver is all stocked and ready go, clothes food and liquid refreshments are all aboard, I will have to remember my medicine, camera and the old laptop. That should do it.

The extended forecast doesn’t show any rain until next week on Thursday so I should have sunny and in the 80’s or low 90’s for my stay, haven’t decided how long yet, it cheap to stay there and I don’t eat and drink much. so a week wouldn’t hurt. I want to be back by the 24th of August which happens to be Donna’s birthday, Can’t tell you how old she is going to be but I am a year older, and in dog years I’m dead.

Another gorgeous sunny day in the 80’s here at the Ranch, and it goes down into the 60’s at night. Can’t beat that. Swimming and sleeping weather.

Hopefully Donna only had an overnight bug or something that messed her stomach up bad. We’ll see what she looks like when she gets home from work tonight.

Everyone be safe out there. Sam & Donna……

Tuesday, August 14, 2012

Tuesday Thoughts.

Donna was up all night sick, throwing up and just miserable, she didn’t get any rest until 05:00AM after I called her in sick for work today, she has spent most of the day all day either sleeping or sipping white soda and eating Waverly crackers. Boy I hope she is feeling better tonight. If not I won’t leave for the Lake until she is better.

Adam stayed last night, I had to take him to get new shoes for school, this morning, wow, talk about sticker shock, $59, at least he didn’t see the $79 ones, were talking tennies, I don’t pay that for my New Balances and I only buy them when it’s a buy 1 get 1 free sale. Must be getting old.

Rigg’s is enjoying the cooler days running the yard making sure the neighbor kid’s know whose the top dog. I really think he just try’s to get them to come over and give him attention which they do.

Had another cooler day, stayed cloudy most of the day and right at 80 degrees. Just right for me.

I’ll have to see what my bride will be able to try for food tonight maybe a soup of some kind, dead chicken sounds like a good choice to break her stomach back in.

Adam will be going home at 06:00PM, Thursday starts his school year, Nick starts tomorrow. I told Adam if he wants me to continue to pay the freight for his football he has to stay on the honor roll again this year. My parents wouldn’t let sports or jobs interfere with grades. so he is in the same boat.

Everything else is going smooth, hope everyone out there is having a good week. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna…...

Sunday/Monday Notes.

Sunday just flew by ,Adam had a scrimmage game of football in the morning and practice in the afternoon, where they all learned what they were doing wrong, and hopefully will improve next time, the coaches have to have a lot of patience with this age group, what a bunch of hard heads, they all think they know everything and actually they no very little about the manly art of football. however it looks like they will toughen up as time goes on.

Adam08-13-12a

Adam in one of his practice tees.

I remember when his Dad was that age and starting soccer, which in the catholic leagues was every bit as rough and tumble as football with little protection. He was the same way, but he did make it to high school varsity soccer before a broken pelvis in a game sidelined him.

Today I have both of the Grands here, Adam asked to stay another night and Nick came over to finish moving her stuff and clean her old room. Both of them helped Grandpa carry the groceries in from the truck, and then they had a pizza for lunch.

Wednesday the tree people are supposed to finish the back yard job and the minute they are done I will head for the Lake weather permitting. Rigg’s is not letting me out o his sight, I think he knows it’s his turn to go camping this time. It should be good sleeping with temps in the 60-70s at night, won’t need the A/C after the sun goes down and the water will still be warm to swim in,

I just called Rigg’s Vet Ellie and she said it would be fine to allow Rigg’s to go swimming now. I will surprise him when we are at the Lake later this week.

That’s about it for today from the ranch, it is cloudy and a comfortable 78 degrees right now.

Be safe out there. Sam & Donna……

Saturday Mumblings.

Was up at 06:00AM and gad coffee with my bride. Got a pleasant surprise, After I went to bed last night Adam Called and asked his Dad to pick him up so he could spend the weekend here. Andy went out and got him and he was snoozing when I got up. After coffee I went to check blogs and the DSL was not working, I went downstairs where the modem and wireless router is located. ( it’s now one unit) and tried unplugging it and waiting and then plugging it in again but still nothing, the DSL light was flashing which means it’s not getting a DSL signal.

I waited until about 09:00 and tried it again and it was still flashing so I called Centurytel Tech support to see if they were having trouble, the girl said she didn’t see that any lines were off, but she would have a Tech come out.

About 10:00AM I noticed the Skype light was green so I tried the internet and we were back up and on line. never got a call but it must have been something in their lines.

Andy took Adam this morning for his weigh in for football. He came home so happy because he weighed 98 lbs. and said Grandpa I only have two lbs. to be a hundred. I said great but you need 5 lbs. to catch up with Rigg’s because he weighs 103lbs.

Adam is happy the internet is back so he can play on his xbox with his friends on line.

Donna has the restaurant tonight, so it will be a quiet night at the ranch tonight.

It was another gorgeous sunny day with a high of 86, just right for this time of the year, Hope everyone is having a good weekend, Be safe out there. Sam & Donna…..

T.G.I.F.

Was up at 04:30Am and had coffee with my beautiful bride. Then she was off to the truck company and then the restaurant. Rigg’s and I put a train movie on and got another hours nap.

I went to the State farm office to pay the insurance on the fiver and found out that the form I filled out for a discount was approved and I got and $86 dollar reduction in my premium, what a pleasant  surprise, Donna is happy she says she will use it to get a new pair of glasses, Glad she didn’t wait till she was walking into to the walls.

Today is pizza night so I took a pack of dough out of the freezer to thaw. It will be a square homemade one tonight. You only live once.

Looking forward to getting the yard done and then going to relax out at the Lake. this week, haven’t decided how long yet , maybe Thursday- Tuesday that makes it another week. Rigg’s will enjoy his time at the campground and if I can get the okay I will take him down and let him swim in the Lake by the boat launch at the Dam.

Not much else going on it’s quiet around here. Hope everyone has a great weekend. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna…..

Thursday Happenings.

Was up at 04:30 Am with my bride and we had our coffee. Then Rigg’s and I got a nap.

The big news is that about 09:00AM Rigg’s and I went to the Vets, where he had his stitches removed. I was so proud of him he gave all the girls a lick and then just laid there and didn’t move a muscle while they snipped them out. When they were done he gave them another lick and was ready to head for the truck with his Dad. The Vet wasn’t there yet so I will have to call and see when it will be alright for him to resume swimming. That is probably the most strenuous thing he does, and he puts 110 percent into it so I don’t want him to start to soon and overdue it.

Nicole came over is is going move her stuff to her Dad’s today. I for one am sure gonna miss her. but she will come for visits on weekends once in awhile. I know Rigg’s misses chasing her around.

Now I can plan on a trip to the Lake, I was going to go Monday but now I have the tree service coming back to finish the job in the back yard on Wednesday so I will have to put it off until after that is done. It doesn’t mater to me since the kid’s won’t be able to come out except on a weekend and when there is no football, so mostly it is a vacation for Rigg’s and me. Donna will be working.

Got the pills I ordered for my neuropathy today so I started taking them.Time will now tell if I see any improvement or not .

That’s about it for today, it is another gorgeous sunny day with a high predicted of 91, I can live with that after all those 100plus days we have had. Everyone be safe out there. Sam & Donna…..

Tuesday/Wednesday Musings.

Up at 04:30 AM with my bride for coffee, me & Rigg’s got a nap. Then this morning I went out and loaded the truck with all the metal & aluminum I have been saving in the back yard, and took it to the recycling place. Trying to keep the County off my back since they now call burn piles and scrap metal. rubbish.
Don’t know what happened yesterday the day flew by and it was after I went in and turned a movie on that I realized I hadn’t posted anything on the blog, So that’s when I made the decision just to combine this one. Smart move , I could then just lay in bed and fall asleep.
I am going to call the Vet in the morning and then see about getting his stitches out, if that goes well. I am going to try and get out to the Lake Monday for the rest of the week and just lay around and float. I’ll take Rigg’s with me and he can lay around to and chase his toys.
Not much else going on so I will say see Ya Later. Everyone be safe out there. Sam & Donna…….

Monday Meanderings.

Up at 04:40AM with my bride for coffee, then she was off to the truck company. She has a doctors appointment on the way home.

It was a gorgeous sunny 90 degree day today, I stayed at home and just enjoyed Rigg’s company.

Ordered a set of stair covers for the fiver. After I found out that Allen & Lolita's dog Lilly had ripped a toenail or claw out by getting it stuck in one of the little holes in the steps that most RV’s have. Poor Lilly had to be treated at the vets. Had never thought of that hazard but as big a lop as what Rigg’s is I didn’t want to take a chance. Most of the times he jut leaps from the ground into the fiver. but sometimes he uses the steps. Anyway Amazon had them in black for $14, which was $4 cheaper than Camping World so that’s where I ordered them.

RV Step Covers.jpg

Should match the steps I have.

Once I get Rigg’s to Vet and get his stitches out I am thinking of taking the trailer up to the Lake for a few days and just relaxing and soaking in the pool. I will take Rigg’s with me since the kid’s will be back in school in a couple of weeks.

I sure wish Donna could go and just set around and read a book and relax with out any stress for a few days, this 7 days a week gets to me , let alone her. All I can hope for is soon it might be over and she can relax a little.

That’s about it for today from the Weeb Ranch, we hope all our friends are having a good week and please, Be safe out there. Sam & Donna…..

Sunday Notes.

Was up at 06:00AM with my bride and we had coffee.

We then tried to get another nap. Donna had to go into the restaurant at 09:30AM for the day shift, she should be home around 04:00PM so we will be able to have a meal together tonight. Am I ever lucky it looks like a steak on the grill and baked potato night. Boy that bride of mine sure thinks of me, she is the one who picked supper tonight.

It is a really a nice day, sunny a little breeze and 88 degrees, not supposed to get any warmer so for a change a normal summer day, Even the humidity doesn’t seem oppressive.

Rigg’s is laying by the chair here, he is doing great I gave him a tummy rub and felt all around his stitches and he didn’t show any sign of any discomfort and it all looks nice and healed, no pinkness at all. I will call Tuesday and see about getting him in to get the stiches out and then he will find out when he can go swimming again.

I took Adam home this morning , he has a football game today but he will be on the bench because he is taking Steroids and Benadryl for a poison Ivy infection he got. They can’t let him play until he is off the medication for 48 hours.

Saturday Mumblings.

Was up at 06:00AM with my bride for coffee, then did some blogging. It rained most of the morning and the temps stayed around 79 degrees. About 10:00AM Adam called and asked to come over for the night so he is other Grandpa drove him here to the ranch. It is good to have at least one of them here for the weekend, Nicole is staying with her Dad this weekend. She only has two weeks before school starts so she will be moving her stuff to her Dads probably sometime this week. When that is done I will convert that bedroom back to a guest room and do away with all the little kid decorations and that way if the kid’s aren’t here we have a guest room for visitors again.

Got a great suggestion from one of my commenter’s yesterday about a possible remedy for my neuropathy pain in my feet. what a great thing this blogging is. Thank you so much goes out to QuiltinLibraryLady for the information.

Tonight, it’s Ravioli’s for Grandpa & Pizza for Adam, he doesn’t like Ravioli's, but you just can’t keep a good pizza hound down.

Not much else going on here. so I will say See Ya tomorrow . Be safe out there. Sam & Donna……

T.G.I.F.

Rigg’s and I were up at 06:00AM, I didn’t have coffee since this morning I had my every 3 month Doctors visit. so I never eat anything before I go so he gets an accurate measure on my blood work to check on how the medication is working.

I got a good report, he said my numbers were great again and congratulated me on losing 5 lbs, he also did another ultrasound on my feet  and said the blood flow is still good. I told him the medication for the foot pain isn’t doing anything, and he said keep on it for another month and if it doesn’t help he will change it. I am pretty much resigned to the fact that that pain will be with me for the rest of life. He did say the water in the pool and Lake is good therapy for my feet so at least until October I will be able to swim until the weather gets cold. Then he said see ya in 3 months, so I am good for another 3000 miles or so.

Tonight is pizza night here at the Ranch so, My son and his girlfriend and I Will enjoy a couple of pies.

Everyone have a great weekend, Be safe out there. Sam & Donna.

Thursday Happenings.

Slept in this morning with Rigg’s, and missed coffee. About 08:00AM I took advantage of the 75 degree temperature and got John Deere out and mowed all the grass. It really hadn’t grown much but the weeds were starting to push through it hadn’t been cut in about 3 weeks. Just to hot at over 100 to spend 3 hours out there.
Plus I wanted to wait for the tree service to clear the brush piles so I could start at the highest setting and cut that down until it is a lawn again. It’s never going to be a lawn, lawn, but the prairie grass like all around us. I have a few patches of zosia it places, but not in the back where the pile was. Whatever it is once you keep it cut down it looks goods. Right now a lot of cracked bare ground and brown grass is showing. just have to wait till Fall for the rains to replenish it.
Not much else going on it was sunny this morning and by the time I got off the tractor at noon it was just about 90. That is hot enough for me. I went in and jumped in the shower to cool off, and then I had a peanut butter sandwich and two glasses of cold lemonade. Yep. we know how to live here at the Ranch.
Rigg’s is napping next to his Daddy’s chair again. The fur on his bald spot is just starting to grow like peach fuzz.
Today is the last day for his medication, He seems to be doing just fine. and would just love to get out and run with the kid’s if they were here.
That’s about it for today, Hope all is well out there in blog land. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna..

Wednesday Musings.

Was up at 04:30AM and had coffee with my bride, then she was off to the truck company and then the restaurant.

Today is another one of those days where it is supposed to reach 100 degrees again.

Don’t plan on doing anything outside today. I did run to Wal Mart to get a new DVD player for the bedroom. I guess I play so many train movies that I just wear them out after a year or two. The just start to stop & start and nothing seems to fix it, even the cleaner disk I bought, I have just decided they are throwaways and go get a new one. The price has come down to about $35 so it isn’t bad for the use I get out of them.

Rigg’s has one more day to go on his medicine and then next week I will be bringing him in to get his stitches removed.

I hope it won’t be to long before he can start swimming again I know he is missing the doggie park lake.

Not much else going on. Just trying to keep everyone cool through this heat.

Some real truth in this, Donna always tells her friends that me and the Grandkids are the same age.
