Monday Musings

Up at 04:30am, coffee and then Donna and Andy off to work, got some blogs done and then a trip to the Walmart, and the Auto Zone for some stuff I needed, especially a gallon of Simple Green Cleaner, it does a great job on getting those tough marks off the trailer and I will have that done before we leave Saturday.

We decided to split up the trip into two segments. we are going to stay from Sat 7-17 until Thurs  7-22 at the Little Farm Campground in Rising Sun IN. which is right across the river from Cincinnati Ohio where Donnas’ brother lives , he just had surgery for a broken sternum so we wanted to visit him and take Adam to the big park there. The Campground comes highly recommended for children and is dog friendly. On Thurs. 07-22 we will be driving three hours north to Alum Creek State Park in Delaware OH. Which is just north of Columbus OH. We will stay there til Sun 7-25 and then head back to Dardenne Prairie. Donna's nephew Patrick JR and his family live close by and we will visit and boat with them, They have two boys so there will be lot’s to do for Adam, especially the boating part, Pat has a large pontoon and they love to tube so Adam will be in water heaven.

I made the reservation for the State park today and was lucky enough to get a site that backs up to the water so Pat can bring the boat right to the campsite.

If the weather is right we can boat swim and cook and relax all in one place.

Did I mention that the State Park also has a dog park with water entrance for dogs that like to swim. Rigg’s is going to have a super vacation also.

Can you tell were excited, tomorrow all the final checks of tires and systems will be made on the trailer, Sam already has his bag packed, Donna caught up on all the laundry yesterday, so it is clear sailing for the trip, just have to make a grocery list and check and see what we already have on the shelves, all the canned goods and some frozen stuff is already in the fridge from the last trip, so we won’t need much, Sam is anxious to get the new camera out on a field trip.

Rigg’s wanted his serious picture in today’s blog.

That’s about it for today waiting for Donna she has a Doctors appointment on her way home so I will have to wait till I here from her to plan for supper. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna.

  1. Well, I can tell you are all ready to hit the road! Sounds like a great trip and I'm sure Adam will have a blast. What a wonderful thing -- a dog park with water entrance. Never hear of that. Be sure to let us know how Riggs liked it after he has the chance to take a swim.

Safe travels and enjoy the view!

  7. I was in Cincinnati several years ago at a Human Resource Conference. I did enjoy the area. Knowing there are good campgrounds nearby, a trip back that way might be in order.
