Saturday/Sunday Notes

Another combined weekend blog, Saturday was started early with coffee and about 08:30am Sam went out and started clearing and cutting and stacking wood, the leafy limbs were dragged back to the wood pile. After about three hours it was getting too hot so Sam quit for the day. My son Andy got his Racing Camaro fired up for the first time this year, wow what a beast, it is noisier than any car I ever had, but I guess at 1000 horsepower it should put out some noise, He has been out of work so his car had to sit in the garage because you can't race without money. About 05:00PM  Adam's Mom called and asked if he could spend the night so of course Grandpa said yes, He got here about 7:00pm and was helping his Dad wash the race car. He's a typical Weibel male as he is already infected by the fumes of gasoline.

Sunday started out as usual coffee with Donna , she is off from both her job's today and tomorrow so tonight we will BBQ some pork steaks and have a nice cookout meal. About 08:00am the neighbors were again serenaded by the music of chain saws as we started to get the remaining cutting and clean-up going never knew one tree could leave so much of a mess to clean up. After 2 1/2 hours it started to rain so we called it a day, there is maybe an hours more work left and then it will be done. That is Monday mornings project.

Andy's girlfriend Samantha came over with her daughter Nicole, she is Adam's age and they really get along great, who knows maybe this will turn into Granddaughter number 2. I shot a couple of pictures what do you think..The Kids will be going out this afternoon to the Lake for swimming and then the fireworks tonight. Donna & I are staying home in the nest.

Aren't they just a cute couple of kids?

Also with all the small branch's that were being cleaned up in the yard Rigg's was in stick heaven, he would pick one up after another trying to get a throw out of you, finally Mom gave him a few minutes of playtime so he would stop bugging, yeah right.

The last picture shows Rigg's OTHER side as he is draining the water bowl dry, boy he can drink it dry in one sitting even faster if he's been out playing.

Then when he walks away there is a trail of dripping water across the kitchen floor , he doesn't know how to dry his mouth.

  1. Those two kids look like child models..they are adorable..Don't you just LOVE cutting up trees? Me neither. The plus side is some good wood for campfires and smoking.
Don't blame Riggs too much for the water drooling..I usually end up wearing whatever I am drinking at the moment on my shirt. Sometimes it runs down my chin, too, Riggs.

  8. Love the pic of Adam.. very clear and honest looking innocence of youth. And his new friend Nicole seems to be impish and full of mischief and creativity. I bet they get along great!

We are sitting in our rig in the middle of a big raining downpour and not able to make it into the tiny town nearby for the fireworks demonstration tonight. Oh well, we are snug and warm and dry...
