We were up at 05:00AM and got everything finished and got underway for our vacation at 06:00AM .
We headed south on I-64 from Dardenne Prairie.
Goodbye MO.
We crossed the Mississippi River, where we entered Illinois.
Rush hour traffic in Illinois heading to St Louis.
We headed east on I-64 across Illinois to I-57 south of Mt Vernon. Then we took I-24 South past Metropolis.
Superman’s water tank.
Crossing the Ohio River into Kentucky.
We stopped at a rest area before we got to Kentucky and Donna took the helm.
Donna at the wheel and Rigg’s has the officer of the deck watch.
Oh Boy Oh Boy I can’t believe were on vacation.
The Kentucky Border.
It rained all the way through Kentucky and when we got to Clarksville it was still raining and before noon so we decided to go on to Nashville and stay at a park there.
Tennessee Border.
Once we got to Nashville we went to the Nashville Country RV Park, we got a pull through site so we didn’t have to unhitch for just one night. It has everything you can think of even shuttle service if you want to go to one of the shows. A very nice park and it’s passport America which means half price.
Let me help you with that jack Pop.
Lets go Dad, my couch is all ready for me.
It’s now 04:00PM and the rain has stopped and the sun is peaking out , maybe we’ll have a happy hour at the pool later. Oh before I forget For my friend Rick up Cowitchen Bay, Tell your pretty bride Paulette we passed the National Quilting Museum at exit 4 on I-24 in Paducah Kentucky, sorry buddy but that’s one way to get you to visit the Midwest.
Tomorrow we will head south into Georgia and maybe stop for the night in Perry.
You know what they say plans but today we were off the road before 02:00PM a great start to our vacation.
Everyone be safe out there. Sam & Donna.

Hooray, hooray you're on your way - Your summer vacation starts today!! That's from a book I used to read to my kids when they were tiny. Can still quote most of the book!! Glad you see you out and on your way. Haven't been on the computer much lately so need to catch up some. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI have followed your blog for a long time. Glad that you are finally on the road. I live about 90 minutes from Perry and we camp in Perry quite often. Two campgrounds in that area Fair Harbor and Twin Oaks. Twin Oaks is in Elko GA which is 8 miles south of Perry. Enjoy your travels and hope that Donna is enjoying her retirement from the trucking company.
