Well missed a day on the blog, don't know why maybe it's the two days in a row of 100 degree heat and heat indexes you can weld with. Just was to tired at the end of the day to get my mind shifted into the writing mode. Yesterday was a slow day in Dardenne Prairie again, went out in the morning to pick up the glass for the trailer Entertainment Center Door, and the one that Rigg's broke on the screen porch, They had the trailer piece finished but said the porch frame wouldn't be ready till Wednesday, okay one project was completed. Now the trailer is whole again and look's like new. came home and soldered the light in the kitchen over the cook station where the ground screw was stripped, that job was a success and Donna now has both her lights to cook with. When Donna came home we had a hamburger helper casserole, and that was about it for the day.
This morning I was up early had coffee with Donna. and off she went to the truck company. Tonight she has the restaurant so it's a double shift again. My son left about an hour later and I went down to do some serious blog reading. Later this morning I went back and got the frame and glass for the screen porch and installed that when I got home.
I stopped at Farmer Charlies on the way back from the Glass company and got a TV Cable faceplate to put in the Trailer Entertainment Center where I had installed the Satellite cable from the outside receptacle. The faceplate makes it look so much more like a factory installation, except for the writing that say Satellite Dish Cable in red marking pen.
I got a note from Paul & Helen. They are Jodie & Coco's parents and are on their way back from an Alaska Safari to their home in Florida. They missed us on the way north and Paul said on Monday that in about four days they will be passing through Missouri in the way home and wanted to stop and meet. We don't know what plans they have but we hope they will stay long enough for the dog's to go to the Doggie Park with Rigg's. That would be a black (Rigg's) chocolate (Coco) and a yellow(Jodie).Labs all together what a combination. We have been following their trip and Jodie & Coco have their own blog that they keep in touch with Rigg's with. For all you puppy lovers give that blog a look it will keep you amused and feeling good.
Since we might get company, I put off taking a bachelor holiday back to Iowa and I will stay home, If the guest's can stay I may see if they want to go to the Lake and camp there as there is plenty of doggie room. and it would give them a breather from a long driving haul to Florida, Have to see what the plans are first.
Not much else to report for today, Pictures will follow when the doggies and their parents get here.
Be safe out there. Sam & Donna.
So glad to get caught up with you and the family. Hope the heat cools down for you.
ReplyDeleteThanks for following along on my blog and your encouraging comments.
Stay well!
Glad to hear you guys are doing good! It would be fun to see how Riggs gets along with Jodie and Coco. I follow that blog too, and think they are beautiful dogs...just like your boy Riggs!
ReplyDeleteBoy you guys down there in Missouri and been IN THE HOT BOX lately. We alternate between rain, fog, heat ...are mosquitos a weather term??? Those suckers (no, really?) are about to carry us away...Have fun with Paul and Helen...Have a beer for Dennis! Make mine wine.
ReplyDeleteYour life sounds a little like ours..just pure dee survival..and just doing some minor fixing and puttering around..all in all not too much fun..lol
ReplyDeleteStay safe and stay cool!!!

I was going to send a Texas Ranger search party if you didn't post soon. You're one of the guys who posts pretty regularly so when you miss a couple of days we get to worrying.
ReplyDeleteI hear ya on the heat and humidity. About all I feel like doing when I get home is walk around watering the plants with a hose in one hand and a beer in the other.

Wow, you're a handy guy to have around the house! Sometimes days are just filled with errands and repairs. Hope your heat breaks soon.
ReplyDeleteSam...I certainly understand how this heat just makes you tired. It has just made us unmotivated to do much of anything. I really hope we get a break from it soon.
ReplyDeleteWow, Riggs should be in doggie heaven with company coming. All the colors of Labs in one place together having fun. :-) Can't wait to see the pics.
Take care!

I agree with you Sam - sounds like it was just too darn hot to blog! We're very lucky here - high 70's during the day and cools down at night! So, I'm still talking!!
ReplyDeleteYou could defer that Iowa trip and come out here to Colorado, or perhaps you could go buy a block of ice and sit on it. But keep cool anyway you can and I hope the dogs enjoy each other.
ReplyDeleteWhat is this heat all about! We had a heat index of 105 the other day with a dewpoint of 78. 70 is tropical. This is Minnesota! But......I guess we should just soak up some of the heat like a big rock and hope that some of it stays with us to help warm us this winter. :)
