Up and at em early, Had coffee with my bride, and she was off to work at 05:30AM. I had my every three month Dr's appointment at 09:00AM, Everything was fine, he said my blood pressure was the lowest it's been in years, three months ago right after I got to PA. I had to renew my pill's. He tweaked it by taking one pill that I had been taking in the evening and cutting the dosage in half and having me take a smaller dose once in the morning and once in the evening, so maybe that's why my blood pressure is lower now. Anyway he said my numbers are still great and he would see me in another 3 months or 3000 miles.
So it look like I live to fight another day. Rigg's look's like he is getting back into his old self again and is constantly wanting pets and loving, he is being a good big brother and playing tug with Sadie , who just loves his attention, she will jump up on her hind legs and stand so she can reach his face to give him a lick or kiss. It really is funny how an animal close to a hundred pounds will get along so well with one less the 5 pounds.
We had some snow flurries this morning, so I stopped at the grocery store on the way home from the doctors office nothing accumulated, so I could have waited until tomorrow. I think the kid's are supposed to be over for the weekend, but I haven't heard from Adam's Mom, yet and I won't know until after supper if Chris & Nicky are spending the weekend, I kind of look forward now to the noise and mayhem, and the sword fights and xbox games going nonstop all weekend, kid's laughter has a way of filling a house with so much life, and of course Rigg's & Sadie will join the kid's for their fair share of fun.
I see my buddy RICK, has made it safely to his winter digs in the Sands RV Park in Desert Hot Springs Ca. Just the name of the place makes me feel warmer as I sit here in my basement office at 70degrees listening to the fan on the electric furnace eating dollars while it works to keep the house warm in 30 degree weather. If Donna wasn't working tonight I would bring a batch of wood in and start a nice roaring wood fire. to save money, But it is a waste for just me & the dogs, Maybe if the kids come over we will, and make some popcorn later.
Got a call on Skype from my Sister Wendy, she wanted to let me know she started her physical therapy this week, and takes a medical shuttle there, she said she got out with her walker and took the two plastic garbage cans down for trash day this week. That is really a sign of her growing independence. I was really happy to here she is progressing so well as she put in a tough couple of months confined to bed. All I can say is watch out PA. when she finally gets the go ahead to resume driving. The oil was changed and it was inspected while I was there so it is ready to go. We only drove it about once a week to get her to her doctor visits and now it is sitting until she is cleared to drive. I'm sure one of her friends can get it out once a week or so for a short ride.
I want to say Hi to my cousin Sam Genett and his wife Miriam who I really enjoyed their company and home while I was there. He lives in His and my Grandmother & Grandfathers house and they have it really looking great. Sam is my Mothers Brother Francis son.
No pictures today it was really nasty looking outside and so I haven't taken the camera out yet today.
Maybe over the weekend I will look in the vault and see if there is something interesting to share, I kind of enjoy the blasts from the past, and I sometimes wish others would post an occasional reminder that we were young once too.
Be safe out there, Sam & Donna...
I missed your posts for a couple of days, and glad to hear Riggs is doing alright after his surgery.
ReplyDeleteGlad Wendy is doing better. I am sure that is a load off of your shoulders.
Stay safe and you can keep that snow up there. :)
I'm glad to hear that Wendy is recovering well.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteonward to the weekend!..sit back and relax..pour a cold one!

ReplyDeleteSam,
ReplyDeleteMy vault is only five years old, so don't have any pictures from when I was a youngster. :)
I was wondering how Wendy was doing so thanks for giving us the update letting us know she's doing well.
ReplyDeleteA nice January night at home with a roaring fire sounds pretty darn good no matter where you are!!
Since you introduced us to Wendy, and kept us up on how she was doing before you left, it is nice to now know that she is going to improve even more. Let us know when she gets released from house arrest!
ReplyDeleteLooking back into that vault gets a little scary sometimes. But, it's a good kind of scary:)) Well, sort of...........
ReplyDeleteGood to hear that both of your patients are doing better. Must have been the nursing.
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about doing a post with some pictures from "back in the day". Great minds think alike 'eh?

So glad you sis is on the mend and managing well now on her own. You are such a great brother to help her out!!!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about lighting the fireplace. But we do enjoy the warmth... just that about 3am when it dies down, it sucks the furnace heat outta the room too, even with the glass doors closed. So by 5 am when any remaining smoldering coals are for sure out, then I get up and shut the flue.
But it does help with the heat bill if we keep it burning all afternoon and evening, the main furnace doesn't even kick in.
