Saturday Mumblings.

Donna slept in until 06:00AM, then later in the morning she did our taxes, she said we might have to pay the Feds something this year but she has to check one more thing out, it will be close. It was cloudy and cooler than we thought today and my son Andy went our someplace, so I procrastinated and put off the front hub & bearing job on the truck, tomorrow is supposed to be 76 degrees and a chance of an isolated Thunder storm, so maybe we won't be the isolated area in mind. When your retired , you can wait a day. I want to get it done while there are two vehicle here. Maybe I should look for another motorcycle, I can remember when we had 4 cars 2 motorcycles and 2 drivers in the family. Now we just have the truck and Donna's Escape so if one quits somebody is walking or looking for a streetcar.

The place was really quiet today, no Grandkid's to louden it up, even the dogs laid around, after Donna got done with the taxes, her and Rigg's took an afternoon nap and then at 04:00PM she headed out to the restaurant, she says she is scheduled for a private party at 09:00PM with 50 teenage kids, I told her she ought to draw combat pay for tonight.

Not much going on didn't leave the house only to go to the Shop & Save and get some groceries, got some stew meat, Did I ever tell you I love Donna's Stew. That is what I hope will be the main course tomorrow.

I think my 18 year old Grand Daughter in New Jersey is going through one of lifes tough times, I saw on facebook she said she had lost someone close to her in her life, and then I saw she changed her "status" to single from "In a relationship". I hope she deals with this quickly as breaking up is tough on a teenage girl. Its times like this that you wish they were close to home where you could show them some love and attention when they need it.

Well that's about it for today, Life is still good, the big decision for me now, is what I want to make for my single supper tonight.

Everyone, Be safe out there. Sam & Donna......

  1. Yes, there are certain perks to being retired! You will get it down....no hurry, no worry!

We'll keep your granddaughter in our prayers. The teen years are such tough times. Bless her heart!

Donna should have extra extra pay for a party for teens. You can bet she won't have a quiet night. :-)

  2. I think I.M. knows just how that is you was a talkin' about when it comes to grandkids, even though me and Nilda don't got none. Ya think it's sometimes bad when them grandkids is their, but when they is gone it are always worse and yer immediately wishin' they were back, the bad and all. That were what Grandpap were always a sayin' bout me.

  3. My grandkids are scattered around the country, some are closer, others are not. I really appreciate FaceBook bacause kids in their 20's can get a bit absentminded about keeping in touch and with Facebook, I have a clue what is going on. We can say Hi and check in on THEIR terms, which in this day and age, is more often than not, electronic. I am a bit more connected to my 20 something grandsons now than I was before text messaging and facebook.

  4. Hey, Sam, you sound just a bit lonely without all the grandkids running around shouting and making lots of noise. Hopefully, that will change for next weekend. Keep those spirits up!

  5. Sorry to hear of your granddaughter's heartache. It's hard when you are not nearby to help. I have two grandgirls here all week and two more coming mid-week. They are such a joy. I agree about keeping in touch with FaceBook. Even us oldsters can do it!!

  7. Hope Donna gets a very large tip for her work tonight. I wouldn't want to even be in the same room, let alone wait on all those kids. Hope your Grand daughter is ok. Rough time in life for sure... :(

  8. Hi Sam,
Would love to taste Donna's stew! It's chilly here in Central Coast California and has been raining cats and dogs. Isn't it something how we learn how the younger ones in our families are doing through what they say on Facebook - just a few words. You could text your granddaughter a big hug. She'd probably like that. Take care...http://levonnegaddy.com
