Monday Meanderings.

We were up early, got Donna off to the truck company and Nicole off to school, did some blogging this morning and then decided to just watch and see what the weather would do, it was sunny and 70 degrees at 07:00AM, but about 09:00AM it really darkened up and the wind picked up, so I went out on the screen porch and closed all the windows since it looked like rain was coming for sure, it stayed cloudy until about 03:30PM and then the sun came back out and it is now in the 80’s and sunny. Glad I got the grass mowed yesterday.

About noon I made a quick run to Shop & Save for some of life’s essentials, Bread, pizza and beer ( you know the major food groups). also some of those little white donuts for Nicole, which she loves.

Got home and my son Andy is putting the tires on his Camaro race car and getting ready to take it out side and wash it. He parks it all winter on jack stands and wraps the tires and wheels up so they don’t get wet and deteriorate over the winter. He will then park it outside and cover it with his car cover, Mom will have her stall back in the garage and Dad will be happy too. He is sounding like he wants to sell it and get a more street ready car that is still fast. This one has racing slicks and is 1000hp with Nitrous Oxide, and is an all out go fast race machine, it just isn’t practical to drive it on the street and unless it’s at a car show when you fire it up It will get the attention of anyone with a badge in a 5 mile circle. I have personally witnessed wheel stands in my driveway like at the drag strip.

Yeah I know he takes after his Dad, except now gas fumes have been replaced by diesel exhaust.

Not much else going on here at the Ranch, glad the day turned out pretty. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna…

  1. Dennis was a big drag race fan in the 50's/60's...We got to go to the drags at Chicagoland Speedway and see Shirley Muldowny do her last drive in her pink dragster..What a thrill! When I met Dennis, he had a 1967 Chevelle, 4 on the floor, and I had a 1966 Chevelle, yellow convertible...Wish we still had those suckers!!!
