Was up at 06:00AM and had my coffee with my pretty bride.
Since most people will be reading this in Sunday Nov 11th. I have decide to make this my Veterans Day Post.
Donna & I would like to personally Thanks all the Veterans out there in Blog land. As you all well know. the taste of freedom is especially to one who has served his country for it.
As I have said before, I really did enjoy my service to my country and flying in the Navy. but it comes at a terrific cost, I remember checking into my Squadron on a dark night and being told the mortality rate for flight crews was 50%. There were four young men checking in at the office at the same time.Six months later two of those young men burned up on the USS Forestall.
So let’s take a minute to say to Thanks All who have served and remember the ones that didn’t make it home to this great life of freedom we have. Here is my little Tribute to those two young HC-2 young men and all of the 132 others that lost their lives during that fire.
Now on a happier note, while Rigg’s and I were snoozing this morning, Donna surprised me with this.
My absolute favorite cake in the whole world, white, with white coconut icing and it is made with Slpenda so the sugar is low.
Haven’t had one of these in ages, Donna has been on a chocolate and Brownie kick for awhile or taking cakes to work for birthdays, but this one is mine…..
Hope everyone is having a great weekend. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna…..

ReplyDeleteAnd Thank You Sam for your service in the Navy during a time of such hostilities.... They also told us to look at each other as we entered into Viet Nam, reminding us that about half of us wouldn't return alive....... Grim prospect for a kid of 20 something...
