Was up early for coffee, Donna slept in, around noon shr cam in the kitchen and said the air conditioner isn’t working,I checked the thermostat and it read 79 and the setting to turn on was 76. I checked the breakers downstairs and they were all fine. I then went outside and sure enough the out side unit was off, I rest the high pressure switch which the repair guy had showed me how to do and it started back up. I went inside and wondered why that switch had kicked out again. About 30 minutes later it quit again, and when I tried to reset it it wouldn’t start. We called the repair man and he came out, he said a part that meters the freon inside the house was blocked and bad, and that had burned out the switch, he said he could get the part for downstairs tomorrow and get it going then, He said the parts were covered under the warranty , but that the labor would be about $380. When I asked why so much he said to change the part in the house he has to pump it down and recover the freon in the system and then after putting the new parts in it has to be pressurized again and system checked. All this will take about 3 hours. I can only imagine what the bill would be if the parts weren’t covered by warranty.
So we will have to tough it out without air tonight and just fans.
Rigg’s has snagged his spot under the kitchen fan and Sadie is right next to him. I expect that is where they will stay. It is supposed to be in the 60’s tonight so we can open a window and put the attic fan on like they used to years ago.
Oh well there goes some more money, and I was hoping for another trip soon.
Hope everyone is having better luck. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna..
