Tuesday Thoughts

Can’t believe a week since a blog got posted. Just like the old saying time flies when you having fun. We have had a week of pretty nice sunny weather. My Son has been busy trying to get his new lawn business, he had to have the fuel pump replaced on his work truck, He bought a nice dually trailer, and then got a nice standup commercial mower. Also had a sign made for the trailer. I hope he succeeds ,he is really a hard worker when he is the boss.

Charlie is behaving better. Here he is being good with a nap with his Grandpa. The picture is fuzzy since it was taken in the dark with Donna’s phone.

                                           Charlie & Grandpa.

Rigg’s is enjoying middle age and is happy just to just to sit or lay by his Dad in the kitchen, on sunny warm days he goes out and runs the yard a little and then lays in the sun on the patio.

Sadie is content with just being held by Donna, she will also lay on the bed with us but you have to lift her up. A lot of people think being a three dog family is tough, but really not, they are like kid’s and know thy are brother and sister. Rigg’s is very protective with his younger siblings and watches them when they are out especially Sadie, Back a year or so he kept a hawk from taking her and has never forgotten that danger.

Tomorrow is a big day for Sam, His birthday, also April Fools day, all through my school years I knew I would have to fight that day. Not bad now that I’m old.

Still not warm enough for us to make a trip anywhere from home north, Donna wanted to go an visit relatives in Indiana and Ohio, but since they have the same weather as us I told her we would wait until the middle or end of May for that. No rush now, since Andy has his truck repaired, I will have my truck around all the time.

Well that’s about it for now, hope all is well with all our friends, Be safe out there. Sam & Donna……

Saturday,Sunday Notes.

We are having a gorgeous weekend here in Dardenne Prairie, It has been sunny both days with temperatures n the mid to upper 60’s, it is 65 right now, supposed to stay that way for several more days. Donna took advantage of the nice day and went out for a brunch with her girlfriend Renee, since it was a girls day out I went to Schnucks to pick up a prescription and a couple of things we need, like more deli cheese and meats and some eggs.

With the kids out for the weekend we have been entertaining the furkid’s all weekend, with the nice weather they want out all day. Speaking of furkid’s here are some of my favorite pictures.

I guess that means I have the watch for homeland security.

As most of you know I was a rotor head during my Naval service here are a couple of shots from those days.

Landing on an oiler after hopping over the Destroyer that is being refueled underway,

Picture was taken from a carrier which was also refueling.

We did these kind of operations hundreds of times during a normal deployment. After we landed we would also refuel so you had the oiler refueling two ships and a helicopter while underway. We would usually wait until the carrier broke away and launch from the oiler, normally for us to land they would have someone who needed to be picked up and transferred to another ship.

Here’s one  really like.

Tuesday Thoughts.

st_patricks_day_15

Having a great sunny St Patrick’s Day. Not quite as warm as yesterday where it almost reached 80 degree’s.today it is staying in the fifties. The pooches are enjoying the sunny day,

Rigg's03-17-15a

Charlie03-17-15a

Here they are with their best”Daddy play with me look’s.

Charlie s doing better minding his anti bark collar, hopefully the complaints will stop we watch him close when he goes out and nip the barks in the bud.

Rigg’s only barks when someone comes to the door or in the driveway. That’s his job so we won’t discourage that, it is very infrequent.

Time is going by fast in two weeks it will be April already and I will be a year older, I will start getting the fiver checked out since after that there will be no more freezes, since a started blowing out the water lines and putting a gallon of ink stuff in each tank after they were emptied, I haven’t had any trouble with freezing or valves freezing an acting up, only thing I have to see if my air conditioner has to be turned over by hand the first time I start t for the year.Last year it started on its own, but f not I have to have the cover removed and the motor spun by hand and the bearings and shafts sprayed with oil.

Then it is fine for the summer it is a Dometic, I have others with Dometics tell me they had to do the same thing. it never has blown as cold as I thought it should even from new, we had a Coleman Mach I in our last fiver and it would freeze you out.If I ever have to replace this Dometic I will think about switching and going to the next size up.

That’s about t for today, Everyone be safe out there. Sam & Donna……..

Saturday Notes.

Poor Charlie in trouble again...police showed up this morning and told Samantha that neighbors are complaining about the barking and that this was a warning next time we get a ticket and a fine. Of course Riggs was out when he showed up in driveway and was barking at him. Of course he pointed out him barking...as Samantha told him of course he is barking he's barking at someone in our driveway that he doesn't know...before then Charlie had been out and I had brought him in because of his barking. There is a stray cat that roams the neighbor hood and loves to incite the dogs, he/she will sit just outside of their range and just look at them. Just wish people would have come to us before calling the police. We don’t want to bother people. Guess this really means we are no longer country here.

It was a gorgeous day here at the Ranch, sunny and 60’s degrees, Donna and I did some running in her new car, two stores, and then she tricked me and stopped at Great Clips to get me a hair cut and a beard trim, been about 6 mos. since the last one. even the reindeer didn’t recognize me.

Thursday Thoughts.

Got up this morning, turned on the laptop, to find out that two police officers had been shot during a protest in front of the Ferguson Police Dept. Luckily both will live. But the senselessness of it all, is incomprhendable . What is the purpose of this demonstration, to celebrate the resignation of Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson. These criminals will seize any chance to riot and commit civil disobedience and the rest of the community suffers for it. Boy it sure makes the St Louis area look good again in the world’s eyes.

Other than that we have had two simply gorgeous spring days with sun and temps in the middle 70’s, just like a Spring day.

Rigg’s and Charlie are enjoying their outside time, especially Charlie, who is like any other little boy and does not want to come in, Rigg’s will stay out an sniff around awhile and then come in and nap, Charlie will stay out and play and dig all day.

Here’s a couple of Throwbacks.

Monday Musings.

It looks like the weather is finally breaking, Yesterday it was 60 degrees and sunny, it is sunny today and the temps should be 60 again, Wednesday it is supposed to be 67, all the snow has melted and I am looking forward to getting out now a little more.Washing machine broke down yesterday, so Donna called the repair guy this morning, he will be out this afternoon.

The fur kid's are loving the sunny warmer days, Charlie has decided to tunnel to china. He is really a digger the yard will look like we have gophers instead of dogs, Rigg’s went through that stage when he was a pup.  I hope the weather gets better in Tucson where our friends are at The Escapade,With Donna’s health problems we decided not to make the trip this year, we really enjoyed last years Escapade, and helping to park the RV’s.

Not much else going on here in Dardenne Prairie, Hope all is well with all our friends. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna……….

Wednesday Musings.

Wow time flies when you don’t want to go out in the snow, last weekend we got 8 inches of snow, neither Donna or I wanted to go anywhere n the snow, her with her new car and me just cause I don’t want someone else sliding into me my Son has been using my truck to take Samantha to work at night and pick her up in the morning. Yesterday it got into the 50’s and a lot of the snow melted. Wouldn’t you know it this morning it started to snow heavy and now we have several more inches again.
