We Will Never Forget 09-11-01

Attacks World Trade Center

ny911

We all remember where we were ten years ago today when the attacks came without warning, sort of like my parents generation always remembering what they were doing when they heard the news of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

I remember well being in my office at the Lake as Chief and Linda the dispatcher calling “hurry Sam look at this on TV” I walked into the dispatchers office and saw the first tower smoking and then a few moments later the second plane hit, I knew at that instant that this is not an accident, we are under attack. I also knew my oldest son Sam JR worked across the street from those towers and that he was in mortal danger also. Fortunately he was calling on a client in New Jersey and wasn’t in his office, which was destroyed. Almost 3000 lives were lost 400 of which were Police & Fireman, all but 55 were civilians. I can only pray that we are ahead in our war on terrorism and that those responsible know we will not tolerate it again.

We were up about 06:00AM and had our coffee, Then Donna ran to the store for a couple last minute items.

I want to welcome our 120th follower.CHRIS-MY COUNTRY LIFE I sure hope you enjoy reading about our everyday doings as we try to progress to full timing in our 5th wheel. Never a dull moment here at the Weeb Ranch.

Donna and Nicole were busy making a surprise cake for our guests KEVIN & RUTH who should be arriving sometime today.

Rigg's09-09-11a

Rigg’s is waiting for his new friend Whiskey to arrive..

While we were waiting Sam got out the vacuum sweeper to do some sweeping, it ran a few minutes and then stopped sucking, the blade was turning and the motor was running but no suction. So it had to be disassembled and cleaned and and a blocked passage was found. After it was put back together it worked.

Sam with the sweeper apart.

At about03:30PM Sherman arrived with Kevin & Ruth and Whiskey inside.

Boy were we all relieved the trip was over and they are safely at the ranch

After all the hugs and greetings Kevin & Sam started some serious blogging and a cocktail hour with genuine Canadian Beer, the real stuff.
