TGIF-Back to the Lake

Got up at 04:30am had coffee, and then Donna was off to the truck company. About 09:00am I will hook up to the trailer and head out to Lake Sherwood, only trouble is the back yard area where I usually turn around is wet and soft so, plan B will be in effect, that is backing down the 200 feet of driveway and then into the street to get going. It takes two people as I need a spotter for traffic while backing into the street. My son Andy will be with me. Once we get to the lake I will set it up on a spot and then we will go get Adam in Warrenton Mo. which is about 15 miles away. I will take them back to Lake Sherwood and drop them off and then later today Andy's girlfriend Samantha and her son & Daughter will be out to camp, I will be going home so it can be a Father & Son and Mother & Daughter thing, they have never camped as a family so this will be a first, Andy has a large tent but he asked to use the 5th wheel since the kids will be (Samantha's) camping for the first time and isolated Thunder showers are predicted for Sat & Sunday.

Adam & his Dad, My son Andy.

Got them all set up in a pull through spot, it's right across from the showers and playground. Samantha and her two will be out after she gets off work at 04:00PM so Grandpa said see ya and headed back to the house.  Tomorrow morning (Sat) we will be taking a ride up to Troy MO. which is about 20 minutes north of us to meet Jim & Dee Walters,Tumbleweed, they have been visiting with Dee's sister and since they are in the neighborhood we wanted to meet them in person. If any of you others get in the eastern MO area let us know, I can arrange for a stay as our guest for a few days at the Lake where we have property. The same place where my trailer is this weekend and where I spent last week. It is a really nice private campground.

That's about it for now, be safe out there. Sam & Donna.

  1. Better you than me backing down a 200 ft. driveway!! Glad you got the camper all set up for the kids to have a great weekend! :)
Enjoy your visit with Jim & Dee and thanks for the generous offer...if we are ever in your neck of the woods we'll take you up on that offer.

    Enjoy!!

  2. Enjoy your time visiting with Tumbleweeds. It is always fun to meet our blogging buddies!

Hope Andy and everyone have a great weekend.

  3. I have always found that backing up a large trailer like a 5th wheel is actually easier than backing up a small utility trailer. The little trailers seem to wiggle around all over the place & one sneeze will jack knife it!!

  4. I'm sure all the young folks will enjoy the weekend! Too bad I didn't know you last summer when I volunteered at Swan Lake NWR. I would certainly have taken you up on the offer to visit. :)

  5. Good plan to back up the rig instead of taking a chance and getting stuck in the mud - that would have been a disaster. Hope the kids have fun camping for the weekend.

  6. Oh what a good guy to do that for the budding relationship of the new kids...being introduced to camping but able to spend time in a lovely unit instead of a buggy or possibly wet tent!

The Camping Gods will reward you with one year free of any Rv repairs!
