T.G.I.F.

Up at 04:30AM and had coffee with my bride, then it was blogging time for awhile.

About 09:00AM I took the truck and headed over to Walgreen’s to pick up a prescription for Donna. Then I took the truck to the oil change place and had the oil & filter replaced and grease fittings hit. It was just coming due and I wanted to get it done before we leave, I was going to change the air filter and fuel filter when I got home as I usually keep spares on the shelf. When I got home and looked in the garage I discovered I had used my last ones up, so it was off to the Auto Zone to get some, the air filters were $13, so I bought two. When I checked the number on the fuel filter it said $59, I asked the clerk if that was right since the last time I paid right at $30 for one. He said yes the price took a pretty steep climb. I told him well it’s to steep a climb at 100% for my blood so I will look on line. I found a place on line called. Fleetfilter that had them for $25 each so I ordered two, they should be here UPS in 3 days so I will have time to change it before we leave. That will mean all the filters have been changed and whatever my best fuel mileage is is what we’ll get on the trip.

Adam went to the park on his bike with his friends and they are all playing outside, It’s sunny but only about 60 degrees compared to the summer weather of last week. It is supposed to bee sunny and in the 70’s the next three days, then cool a little again and rain.

I know it’s pizza night, but Samantha is putting together a bunch of enchilada's for supper tonight. She really makes a great south of the border supper. I don’t think Adam likes them so he may have to throw a Totinoes in the oven for him.

That’s about it for today, Hope everyone will be having a great Easter weekend.

Be safe out there. Sam & Donna…..

  1. One problem with being on the road is that we usually need to take the truck to a shop for oil changes and such. Gets quite expensive but important that it be done regularly. And we have the added expense of the exhaust additive that newer diesels require.

  2. I envy you at being able to change the fuel filter by yourself on your Duramax. It normally costs around $175 for a GM dealer to do it.

  3. If and when our paths cross I will give you a hands on lesson,I feel bad for crying about the $59 parts cost now, never realized it was so much at the stealers. Sam..
