Wednesday Musings.

It’s another beautiful Day here in Dardenne Prairie. Sunny and temps near 70 degree’s, Donna went to the O’Fallon Post Office this morning and applied for her US Passport, they do everything including the photo right there. They told her she should receive it within ten days so we should be good to go for our June trip. Have to remember not to pack any guns in the trailer if we do decide to make a side trip to Canada.

Here s a copy of my Son Andy’s business card.

I  have to go to the shoe store and get a couple of pairs of shoes, With my neuropathy my feet are swollen and none of my shoes fit Donna got me a cheap set of moccasin's and I will by a pair of walking sneaks for the trip maybe when the swelling goes down I will fit back in my old size.

Not much going on here at the ranch , everyone is dong fine, The furkid’s are asleep on the kitchen floor at my feet as I type.

Hope all is well with all our friends and bloggers. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna.

Monday Musings.

Having a nice day, sunny and a little cooler, n the mid 50’s but still nice. Got a nice surprise in the mail today, for my Canadian friends that the post.

I received my US Navy Rescue swimmer medal, they were just authorized and I sent my name in since I qualified for it, it is really a beauty.

When you think about it there really weren’t a lot of us out there, like Seals it had a strenuous training course most of us were assigned to Helicopter squadrons, a few to UDT and other functions, like sub rescue boats. But I know I thoroughly enjoyed my time, to bad I’m not young enough to do it again.

We had to have the clothes washer guy out again today, second time in a month, it’s a front loader that Andy and Samantha bought.Donna and I have always have top loader and except for an occasional belt or tensioner pulley they have been virtually maintenance free.If we live long enough to buy another it won’t be a front loader.

Just starting to get some plans together for a trip starting June1st probably for a month or more possible go out east after visiting relatives in Indiana and Ohio ,If I can get Donna to go to the post office and get her passport then maybe we will hop up into Canada for a week or so.

The fur babies are all behaving and snoozing for there afternoon naps.

That’s about it for today, Be safe, Sam & Donna……

T.G.I.F.

Haven’t posted in awhile, everything is okay, just got lazy and the days rushed by, we have ha mostly mild weather the last week, although today is cloudy. The big news is my Son Andy got a new to him truck for his lawn business he started, it s like his dream truck a  2004 Chevy Silverado 2500hd with the Duramax /allison in it.It is just like mine but instead of an extended cab long bed, his has a 4dr,short bed. With the diesel it is like mine and will pull anything he puts behind it.

Also in the last couple of months he has acquired a dual wheel trailer of the car hauler type, A commercial mower, and a smaller Honda Mower, a back pack blower, and a backpack sprayer, to start his business.

He is working his day job an then does his own jobs in the evening, when he builds up his client base he will eventually go fulltime on his own.

Donna and I are proud of him in starting this on own.

All the fur babies are doing fine. Little Charlie just loves being outside when it is sunny and warm, he runs and plays until he just can’t go anymore then he comes in on the doggie bed for and hour or so’s nap.

That’s about it for today, hope all is well with all our friends and fellow bloggers out there. Be Safe. Sam & Donna…….

We’re Back in business.

Well after being without my laptop since last Saturday, the computer place called yesterday and said it was ready to be picked up. My Son Andy was gong out so he said he would get it. A pleasant surprise, when he came back it was only 35 dollars for the new keyboard including installation. After I was using it for a while I noticed something , see if you notice it.

Where’s the U key, this one has two Y’s. Oh well have to find a way to put some kind of a U on top of that key. The rest of it works just find just have to remember for now the right Y is actually a u.

How about a couple of throwbacks for Thursday.

Now back to today, you sure don’t realize how much you will miss our computer until it is broke, Almost a week without it is really tough.

We are enjoying some really nice spring weather today sunny and 74 degrees.

Andy is finally getting his truck for his work back today, after having a sender and fuel pump replaced. he was borrowing mine while his was waiting to be repaired. Be glad when he has his and mine is back to being mine only.just don’t want anything to happen to it to keep it from towing the fiver. Hopefully it won’t be long until we can get out and take a trip. I want to detour on our Indiana, Ohio relative trip to stop in Union Il. where they have the Il, Railroad Museum also campground it also close to Sandwich Il where our friends the Caves live, so maybe a meet up with them, isn’t it great to be able to make plans and hope they turn out like you want.

Monday Musings.

Been awhile since my last post, been a week of mild weather, maybe Spring is finally on the way. although it was supposed to be 70 today and it stayed cloudy and were at 62 and I don’t think we will make 70 unless the sun peaks through, the other night when I was making a pizza I noticed a hot spot on the bottom element, it must have burned through because it doesn’t heat up now.Donna looked at new Ovens and decided we would try and fix this one, she called and talked to the appliance parts store and they said bring it in and they probably had one, so I  took the element out last night, and she said she would stop and get one while she was out doing some shopping today. So if she finds one I will install it tonight and hopefully we will be back in the oven business.

Not much going on here, still waiting for a little warmer weather before we take a trip don’t know where, yet but Donna wants to visit family in Ohio and Indiana so that will be a part of it. That’s about it for today be safe out there. Sam & Donna……..

Tuesday Thoughts

Can’t believe a week since a blog got posted. Just like the old saying time flies when you having fun. We have had a week of pretty nice sunny weather. My Son has been busy trying to get his new lawn business, he had to have the fuel pump replaced on his work truck, He bought a nice dually trailer, and then got a nice standup commercial mower. Also had a sign made for the trailer. I hope he succeeds ,he is really a hard worker when he is the boss.

Charlie is behaving better. Here he is being good with a nap with his Grandpa. The picture is fuzzy since it was taken in the dark with Donna’s phone.

Rigg’s is enjoying middle age and is happy just to just to sit or lay by his Dad in the kitchen, on sunny warm days he goes out and runs the yard a little and then lays in the sun on the patio.

Sadie is content with just being held by Donna, she will also lay on the bed with us but you have to lift her up. A lot of people think being a three dog family is tough, but really not, they are like kid’s and know thy are brother and sister. Rigg’s is very protective with his younger siblings and watches them when they are out especially Sadie, Back a year or so he kept a hawk from taking her and has never forgotten that danger.

Tomorrow is a big day for Sam, His birthday, also April Fools day, all through my school years I knew I would have to fight that day. Not bad now that I’m old.

Still not warm enough for us to make a trip anywhere from home north, Donna wanted to go an visit relatives in Indiana and Ohio, but since they have the same weather as us I told her we would wait until the middle or end of May for that. No rush now, since Andy has his truck repaired, I will have my truck around all the time.

Well that’s about it for now, hope all is well with all our friends, Be safe out there. Sam & Donna……

Saturday,Sunday Notes.

We are having a gorgeous weekend here in Dardenne Prairie, It has been sunny both days with temperatures n the mid to upper 60’s, it is 65 right now, supposed to stay that way for several more days. Donna took advantage of the nice day and went out for a brunch with her girlfriend Renee, since it was a girls day out I went to Schnucks to pick up a prescription and a couple of things we need, like more deli cheese and meats and some eggs.

With the kids out for the weekend we have been entertaining the furkid’s all weekend, with the nice weather they want out all day. Speaking of furkid’s here are some of my favorite pictures.
