Monday Musings.

Still in the deep freeze.woke up to 6 degrees Lord only knows what the wind chill is must be 20below.Just seems cold as can be, even the mutso’s are going out getting it done quick and knocking on the door right away to come in.

1 PM Donna and  went over to the Ford dealer to pick up her new car.It is beautiful, the previous owner bought t new at the same  Ford dealer, had all the oil changes and service done there and traded it back in on another new, new car. just like we used to do years ago. It has every option you can think of including a moon roof, audio prompts for controls, phone patch so you can automatically have hands free phone, they set Donna’s phone up for her to use. Here’s the proud new owner. Supposed to get 32-35 mpg on highway.

Looks like we aren’t the only ones with cold and snow. A lot of folks down south are getting hit with it to. Luckily it’s not supposed to last down there. And what about snow in Elephant Butt where Karen and Steveio are camping. Boy aren’t they lucky.

That’s about it for today, Be safe out there. Sam & Donna…….

Saturday Notes.

Still in the deep freeze here. But the big news is Thursday night, our Son Andy called and said Mom’s car is broke down, he had gone to the store. He said it won’t go into gear front or backwards. A couple years ago we had a shifter cable break so we thought maybe that was it.We ad t towed to the dealer. Friday they called and said the transmission was out and it would cost $3300 to fix it. We discussed it and it’s a 2002 car with 270plus thousand miles, it isn’t even worth 1000 dollars in trade so we decided to look at a new car for her.

She went over and looked at cars and found a 2011Ford Fusion, just a beautiful maroon color , with a ton of options.

She will pick it up on Monday, I hope she enjoys it she says it is a super sharp car inside and out.

Now that that worry is taken care, all the fur babes are doing good, they don’t stay out long when the temps are in the teens.

Not much else going on here. Just waiting for the weather to get warm.

Everyone be safe out there. Sam & Donna……….

Back in 1982 when had 27 inches, the record for this area,Sam went to work and t ended up he spent two nights sleeping when he could at the firehouse in town, the cops reliefs couldn’t get in so they worked 12 on and 12 off, back in those day we didn’t have any blazers or tahoes, I think we were driving Dodge Sedans. In an emergency you had a snowplow go with you.Didn’t have many calls, Did deliver a lot of milk and baby formula. Took 4 or five days to finally open the roads up. When I got home finally I was given a couple days off and had to use to shovel out the snow bank used to be my driveway.
Hey I get another chance I get anther chance to brag up my Grands n New Jersey. The other night was the New Jersey Showdeo Banquet, MY youngest Meghen was awarded ,The Grand Champ award, Best dressed Cowgirl, and Perfect Attendance award.

Saturday/Sunday Notes.

We are back in the deep freezer here at the ranch it is 12 degrees out with a wind chill of way below zero. Donna said they are predict up to ten inches of snow starting at 03:00PM today and continuing overnight.

With that in mind about 08:30AM I headed over to Shop & Save to beat the rush before he storm, and also get the dumper down. I didn’t need much, and the store was just starting to fill up when I got there. But to their credit they had four checkouts open already. By the time  got the groceries out of the truck and carried in the house, my hands were frozen to the point of extreme pain, no  didn’t take any gloves. Now it can snow all it wants and I won’t run out of beer. Got some Meat, Chicken, and Ham steaks for a weeks worth of meals. So we are ready for more bad weather.

My Son Tim from New Jersey and his girlfriend  Bonnie and the Grand girls went to Florida where it’s warm. Bonnies Dad Rich has a place down there. They all went wild boar hunting and the girls got a boar. Here’s some flicks.

We’re all being good.

Hope he warm up continues for awhile, I got to put a headlight bulb in Donna’s car, it needs the other side to because the high beam is burned out but that side needs the battery to be removed to change the bulb so since she has both her low beams now I will wait on the battery.

That’s about t for today, Be safe out there. Sam & Donna…………….

Thursday Thoughts.

Yesterday afternoon it started to snow so we now have about two inches of snow on the ground. Besides Andy taking Samantha to work last night Donna and I are pretty much going to stay home and stay warm, looks like the roads are clear though. The fur babies are taking advantage of the weather and playing in the snow, Charlie is really getting into running and sliding and throwing it up with his nose. Rigg’s has always liked playing in the snow. Not Sadie though, She has to have a pee patch cleared so she can go potty. She s only a couple inches off the ground normally so any snow at all and she is dragging. It’s sunny with a high of 30 degrees today, the next couple of days it is supposed to warm into the upper 50’s and 60’s, that will be the end of the snow cover. Not much doing today. Hope all is well with all our friends. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna………..

Saturday/Sunday Notes.

As you can see by the lack of posts it’s a very slow news week here at the Ranch, cold cloudy and rainy here,  am glad though we dodged the bullet on the midwest blizzard, NO snow here n St Louis. The snow line started north of us in Hannibal MO. Donna started her leave from work today, she is making Fettuccine polo for supper, smells good.

The fur kids are good and laying around now that supper s being cooked. Rigg’s has to have some stuff put  in his ears for an infection. He gets them every now and then even when he hasn’t been swimming.

That’s about t for today everyone, be safe. Sam & Donna………….
