It’s a rainy cloudy day at the Ranch today, But we haven’t had many of them lately. The big news of the day is from my Son Tim from New Jersey is in Colorado, he is hunting out there, and yesterday he got his big bull elk. Did I mention he got this with a bow and arrow. Way to go Son.
Tim and his Elk.
Hope he had lots of help dragging it out and loading it into the truck. Looks like there will be plenty of steaks this winter at his place.
Don’t know where he is in Colorado but we can only hope it’s far from the flooding.
Donna is working tonight, so she is napping this afternoon before she goes into the restaurant.
Rigg’s is laying on the floor next to his Daddy out like a light. He knows he’s safe and Dad has the homeland security watch.
If I go in the guest room for a movie he will follow me in and crash on the bed next to me. Never have to worry I have a 4 legged furry shadow wherever I go.
That’s about it for today, Hope al s well with our friends out there. Be safe, Sam & Donna…….
That is a nice looking elk. I have a cousin who hunts with bow and arrow, which I think is a special kind of way to do it.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your son! I don't know what elk meat is called, but I sure do know that it's very good! How's he getting the meat back to NJ?
ReplyDeleteDon't really know if it was me I would have the meat processed in Colorado and then frozen packed in dry ice and shipped By UPS or Fed EX, expensive but ou won't have to worry about it for a week. Sam..
DeleteI am very jealous I have never gotten a big game animal with my bow:)
ReplyDeleteOur son, Kelly, hunts deer with bow and arrow and has gotten quite a few...but nothing as majestic as an Elk..they are HUGE!
ReplyDeleteJim's son and daughter-in-law both hunt with bow and arrow. I'm not much of a deer or antelope fan but I do like a good Elk steak. That is one mighty fine Elk.
