Tuesday Thoughts.

I really nice sunny day at 83 degrees, here in Dardenne Prairie. Today is Donna’s day off so I have been encouraging her to rest up.

I know if you are like me I am really growing weary the rioting and bad press the St. Louis area as a whole is getting. The shooting of a young man ,not child as the press is trying to trumpet, Sorry 6 foot tall, over 200lbs and starting college, doesn’t fit my description of a child, a young man yes.

Anyway because of a small criminal element, who want to use this as an excuse to steal and loot, we all look bad.

I cannot believe the restraint our police have used in not returning fire after being shot at and the target of gasoline bombs.

In all 4 innocent people have been shot during the riots, all by fellow rioters.

And yes Donna and I are so glad I am a retired officer and not still working.

Rigg’s the lop is laying on the floor guarding the kitchen.

That’s about it for now, Hope all is well with all our friends. Be safe. Sam & Donna…

Hey how about a Navy picture of one of my old helicopters.

  1. I am fully with you on the press coverage! Clearly idiots are not restricted to the government! I still am hoping for some support for the officer who was trying to do his duty and not get killed in the process.

  2. CNN is the WORST!! If you are a police officer this day in age, you have to have a lawyer on retainer...and that should NOT be!!!

  3. I remember years ago when our son thought about becoming a police officer. As time went on, he changed his mind. I asked why, and he said "because you have to deal with too many stupid people".

    Yup.

  4. The media always blow things way out of proportion and repeat their shows endlessly. Unfortunately, there are no doubt a few less than sterling police departments in the U.S., and maybe the media shows their faults too. I'm not referring to the Police in the St. Louis area, by the way.

  5. Gypsy, for the 30 years I was a Dellwood Police officer, I retired as ass't chief, We had the reputation of a top notch City Police Agency, we set our standards high and you didn't get hired without a degree.Today if you are black you have the press in your hands, and the police are sacrificial lambs. No matter what the truth is Officer Wilson, will be hung out to dry, to appease the black population. This is oh so wrong. again glad to be a retired LEO.

  6. Sam, your comments are inflammatory and racist. You are a study in the institutionalization of racism in the US. I am glad you are a retired cop.

  7. All I can say is that I hope people including your police officers do not come to Australia if their aim is to shoot to kill. If and only if a shot needs to be fired, can it not be one to disable rather than kill? Yes, the police in many countries do not have the respect that they deserve on the whole but then that goes for just about every profession in which authority is or should be advocated. We need teach kids and people to act responsibly and accept the consequences of their actions. Sadly sometimes some truly innocent person is in the wrong place at the wrong time, but that doesn't mean that they deserve their troubles. People should not be singled out because they are a certain skin colour, ethnicity, educated or religion. The media also bear a lot of responsibility as they are able to edit and portrait things as they wish especially if it "sells".
