Thursday Happenings.

Up at 04":30AM with my bride and had out coffee, then she was off to the truck company, she has a Doctor’s appointment after work, so she is taking off tonight from the restaurant.

I got some pictures from Don at BestRVRepair. He is documenting how my fiver repair is coming along and thought I would like to see them.

Some were taken on 12-03-11 and then all the way up to 12-28-11.

                          New floor covering started.

As you can see if it was wet it was replaced and first he sealed the bottom vinyl floor cover , then new insulation and then treated lumber, before starting with the floor covering which is a floating ceramic floor with a built in pad.

After we get the trailer back I will let you all know what I think of the finished job, so far it looks like he is addressing each problem as he gets to it.

Some of the floor debris he removed, Donna & I had removed the rug and vinyl floor covering at our place before it went in for repair, or there would have been twice as much.

All we can hope for is that it will be Much, Much Better Than New when he is done.

That’s about it for today, Hope every one is having a good week and getting ready for New Years Eve. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna…

  1. What a ton of work ~ I bet it'll be gorgeous when he gets done!!!
    Happy New Year

  2. What a fantastic job he is doing!!! and so much better than just leveling off the sagging parts and slapping on new vinyl. He is doing an A number One job and doing it right!

Thank goodness you found a carpenter who is taking pride in his work.

  3. good luck with the repair..soon your will have the trailer back in the driveway where it belongs!!

  4. Steve just eyeballed the good job your carpenter is doing. Looks like he put in wonderful cross supports and plenty of screws to hold it down. Your flooring choice is wonderful and will blend in nicely with your colors. GOOD JOB!

  5. What a relief it must be to see all the new coming in and old bad stuff going out...Anxious to see the finished and know what you think of it...It sure looks nice!

  6. Looks to me like its going to be way better than what the factory did, so perhaps it is and opportunity in disguise. Well other than the $2500 part but you'll forget that part and just admire the new floor before long.

  7. wow looks like it will be better than the new original...love the color choices and flooring choices...glad the problem is rectified...such a shame it had to happen at all...but looks like you have a great contractor working on it...

  8. Happy New Year Sam and Donna,,,,the floor job looks very good....It will be nice to get that behing you!!

  9. Its gonna look terrific when finished!! Happy New Year!!

  10. The floor is looking good. Looks like money well spent. Bet you can't wait to get the 5er back in your driveway.
