Saturday Mumblings.

Was up at 06:00AM and had coffee then I just went in and laid by Donna and watched her sleep. We just can’t Thank everyone enough for their prayers and kind thought that brought us through Donna’s procedure. We are truly Blessed to have you all, and I truly believe in the power of prayer.
Donna slept in and then has been resting most of the day, she even looks so much better today than the grey lady I took to the hospital yesterday. I can’t wait now to get her on vacation and go south and really relax, she won’t be able to do any lifting for awhile and not long walks, but she can get a little exercise at a time, I have to look in the closet for the box with my Smokie hat from my police days so I will at least look like a drill Sgt. while I whip her into to shape. Hard to believe it’s been 15 years since I retired those Sgt. stripes I had worn for 25 years. However every once in awhile I will see some old timer who lived where I worked and I will here how it going Sarge.
I was looking at pictures on the laptop and I saw a couple I want to share for you people that need a dog fix.
First Rigg’s girlfriends Jody, Coco, & Sandy.

That one reminds me of this one.

This one I call Charge of the Lab Brigade.
Big brother is in first, then Dad, and Mom is keeping the 7 little ones herded together with her.
Since we didn’t get Donna home until about 09:00PM last night, we just grabbed a sandwich on the way home and had a light supper when got home home. Donna had hers like a lunch in bed.
Today I asked her what she wanted, and she said why not pizza, you missed it last night. What a gal here she is really sore and still tired, and she thinks of me first. Now you know why I was so worried about this whole deal. So tonight is pizza night here at the ranch. Haven’t heard how my Sister & Brother in Pa. And my Sons in New York City and New Jersey are doing with all the snow.
Please everyone I hope you know how grateful we are for God’s graces and your help. Please be safe out there. Sam & Donna….

  4. Your posts are a special part of my day and I'm glad to see you still keep your early wake up call without disturbing Donna *smiles*

On another note ..... You may not want to follow this up but I have wanted to tell you for months now about a book written by a cardiologist which is changing the way many people think about caring for their health.

The book is called Wheat Belly and the author is Dr. William Davis. His ideas are controversial in some circles but many people are claiming improved health as they follow his guidelines. There are some radical diet changes, in particular giving up wheat but there are also some delicious new recipes for wheat free pizza. It just takes a bit to think through living without wheat but the alternatives suggested are so delicious you won't miss it after a few days.

Even if you don't want to go wheat free the book is worth reading. It's easy to find on line.

Let me know what you think if you decide to read it.

Thinking of you as we bask in a delightful summer day with bright blue sky and enough breeze to keep the air fresh.

    Blessings

  8. Pink and rosy is so much better than gray. I am so glad Donna is doing so well. I know you will spoil her as much as Jim spoils me, so I know she will be well taken care of. Now it's time to get on with life. Lots of prayers still being said for a good recovery.

  10. Been watching from a distance, but thinking of you two and praying for Donna. Just wanted to let you know that I am sooo happy all is well. You probably have a lot more people praying for you than you could possibly imagine, since lots of us don't comment all the time. Enjoy the relief from that awful scary waiting!
