Saturday Mumblings.

Was up at 05:00AM and had my coffee, My bride slept in because it was Saturday and joined me at 06:00AM. Rigg’s and I got our nap.
We just relaxed and puttered today with Donna making Brownies to take in to the Restaurant tonight, had to go around and get all the mileages from our vehicles and put it on the personal property tax form to send in. Mo. still has a personal property tax on things like cars ,RV’s ,trailers , planes, & boats. That means none of that stuff ever gets paid off, you are always paying something on it a year until you get rid of it. It used to be worse, they used to make you include you furnishings and furniture but that was stopped several years ago. Most states have done away with it and are happy with the sales tax you pay when you buy the thing. Oh yeah, we have sales tax here too. Talk about double dipping.
WE are having another nice afternoon here at the Ranch, it rained a little this morning, but the sun came out and it it right at 55 degrees now. No wind so we have the back screen door open. So nice to get the house opened up a little.
This will be a short post, hope all is well with all of our friends out in Blog Land. Be safe out there… Sam & Donna…….

  1. Gloomy day here and in the 40's....Rain due in tonight but tomorrow it might hit 50 degrees!! It dadgum better!!

  2. Our governor wants to start taxing us per mile that we drive our vehicles... and we will have to log our mileage each year with our tax returns (that is after he already raised our license plates and drivers license fees too)

  3. Cracks me up when you say you slept in until 6:30. Brownies sound really good - wonder if we have any? Montana still charges a property tax on vehicles also but the RV and boat are permanently registered so we only had to pay it once.

  4. No personal property tax in either NJ or SD. First time I heard of such a thing was when daughter lived in Arlington VA. The town had the personal property tax and it wasn't cheap!

WOndering why Donna takes Brownies TO the restaurant.

  5. Just our of curiosity what time do you go to bed? Up that early I would need to be in bed at 8 :)
Mmmm, I can smell those brownies.

  6. I made brownies last night!! Yum. Personal property tax and sales tax - bummer! WE have neither in Oregon but our real property taxes are sure high. D*&# Gov'ment!! They get you one way or another.

  7. Brownies are always good, glad you are all doing well!

  8. We have to pay those taxes on our boat and motor and the PU truck as it is registered at the lake in order to have insurance to pull the Mo trailers... Kansas wants the truck too.... But since we have an actual address in Mo they can't do too much... Kansas adds the tax into your renewal fees for your tags so it isn't any cheaper over there...
