Wednesday Meanderings.

Was up at 04:30AM and had coffee with my bride, then she was off to the truck company and then the restaurant. I want everyone to know she is finally looking and feeling better and I hope she has this flu bug licked, since she has had pneumonia so many times we have to constantly watch for that whenever her resistance drops. Now that everyone around here including Tammy has had a chance with sickness, maybe we can go on from there and feel normal for awhile.

Tammy let us know when she arrived on Sunday that she would cook for the week, and so far we have had just great meals.Monday was a Fettuccine Alfredo Polo, last night was Ham & Mashed potatoes with corn fritters.

                          Last nights supper.

Tonight she is going to make Spaghetti & Meatballs. Every night we eat like king’s around here and I don’t have to lift a finger, unless it has a glass of High Life in it.

Another gorgeous day here in Dardenne Prairie, 03:00PM and it’s 57 degrees, may make 60 today. sunny and just about no wind. all in all makes for a mild January day.

I have to start to do my research on Medicare, so if anyone out there has any suggestions on what they did let me know, I want this change to go as painless as possible, especially if a supplemental plan is needed. I will be coming off Donna’s coverage completely so that is where I am at now.

I get a kick out of Sadie, I think she has a crush on Buddy, when she is with him she pesters him to play or sits right next to him like, to say to Rigg’s, this is my boyfriend, your just my big brother. Dog’s have such distinct personalities.

Well that’s about it from the Ranch for today. Hope all is well in Blog Land. Everyone be safe out there. Sam & Donna…….

  2. I'm going on Medicare in May...and I know Den has AARP supplemental, and I will probably do the same....Each individual is different...Maybe you can get some help online, Sam...Love it that you now have "live in help"..a cook.

  3. AARP is probably United Health Care, at least the AARP drug plan is. I have my supplemental from BCBS of Illinois. I have never had to use it out of state. Mine runs $150/mo as does my wife. I have more medical issues than wife so it does balance out. I always receive more in benefits than the premium. Big thing is it pays that first hospital day that MC does not. That alone is about $1200 for the day. I have had heart stents and other medical procedures and never worry about it because of the supplemental.
You might check on how it works if your out of state.

  4. I have my supplement through Gerber Life. I've not paid a penny except for the premium of course which has risen twice in 6 months. When I first got it three years ago it was $96. a month, now it is $156!. Premiums are based on your zip code.

Tell Donna to take it easy.

  6. Enjoy the luxeury of a private cook Sam. \If you are going to RV at all, make sure the supplimental co you get covers you in all states.. We use physicians mutual.......Ask a dozen people and you will get a dozen different idea's... What ever works for you,,,,just get one and STAY with it...It don't pay to be switching all the time.... good luck, I been on it for 13 years now..... I think our medical syatem here in USA is fine...But who knows what it will be when OB gets done....... Same with guns...not good....

    1. Read in the news Biden is saying OB is getting ready to sign an Executive order to bypass a vote on gun control. you are right it is getting bad. it will take twice as long to overturn it and lot's of money.

  8. I am a lurker and never comment but thought it was needed today. When you turn 65 You MUST singup for Medicare. My sister didn'tbecause her husband was still working and had great insurance. After he died and the insurance was gone she signed up. SHE THEN HAD TO PAY A FINE FOR NOT SINGING UP AT 65.
So much for not expecting the Government to take care of you. Mkae sure you tell your friends about this. Personally I think it is rediculous.
