Wednesday Musings.

Today is a cloudy but warm day, Donna took the night off since we will be leaving for Branson in the morning.

We finished stocking the fridge, and are now loading clothes and we will be loaded and ready to go. Since it is only a 4 hours drive we won’t leave until later in the morning , no 06:00AM getaways like some trips, we will be staying at the Blue Mountain Campground on Hwy 76, These reservations, were made for us by another reunion goer, and were already made when I found out about them.

I am going to talk Donna into when we leave Branson we will head south to Hot Springs Ar. Neither of us has ever been there and we would like to see it and visit the hot spring baths. If anybody out there has been there and has a campground suggestion and some sights to see lets us know.

This should be our last trip until the Escapade in Tucson in March.

Finally got a relaxed shot of Charlie,

                             Charlie snoozing.

Since my Son and Samantha want to adopt him he will be another Grand dog like Sadie Mae.

Not much else going on we will send out a post when we are settled in the campground tomorrow. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna.

  1. We were in Hot Springs last year during the week of Thanksgiving. We stayed at Lake Catherine State Park - it was beautiful. I will be updating my blog with pictures later this week. runningmemaw.blogspot.com. I'll try to remember to come back and let you know when I get the updates made! We went into Hot Springs a couple of times while we were there, the drive from the park into town isn't bad at all. Hope this helps, cj (runningmemaw)

  2. Ditto on Lake Catherine State Park. Lake Ouachita State Park is also beautiful! Both are a short drive to town. I highly recommend Quapaw Bath House. They have four or five hot springs pools of different temperatures to soak in. So, don't forget to pack your swim suits. Have fun!

  3. I stayed at Lake Ouachita State Park when I was there in 2009. Had a nice site right on the water. There are also several COE parks on that lake, but I didn't have the old farts pass at the time.

I had the full spa treatment at Buckhorn Bath House. It was an experience I will never forget. (in a good way)

  4. Den and I were in Hot Springs just once....to go to the horse races...You might want to check with a Doc about Donna soaking in the springs if they are steamy..Sometimes people with breathing issues have trouble with lots of steam..just sayin'.

  5. Last year we hosted at the Hot Springs National Park Campground - Gulpha Gorge. It is a short distance from the baths & one of the few FHU national park campgrounds. It is a really nice campground @ a very reasonable price. The sites are all back-in, there are about 6 FHU sites along the little river that runs through the campground & several not along the river. Check out RVREWIEWS.COM, road noise can be a problem but it is a beautiful park. Have fun. Becki

  6. You will be sure to enjoy yourselves.

Would like to attend the Escapade in March but I am sure we will do our annual gate guard stint about that time. Gotta make the money to take granddaughters to Disney in June.
